You'll have to PULSE first to see which rocks have ores inside, then you have to SCAN them to see which kind of ore is inside, then you have to laser them to dust in order to collect the ore.
I'm finding that mining is not a really good way to earn your credits, the good $ ores are very scarce. Doing missions and blasting pirates is usually more rewarding. At least in the first two star systems.
Still have to check the others.
Transponder spikes ftw btw. Lots of info in transponders.
Btw, anyone else unable to switch between mining lasers and other beam-type turrets? For example: If I have my viridian turret along with mining lasers, I can only control the viridian turret. Not sure if it's a bug or intentional. I am able to switch between my missles, though.
Anyone with an answer please reply :)
I currently use 2 MK particle lasers and a mining laser and asteroids go boom pretty fast - but i gave up on mining. I only mine, if my mission has me deep in an asteroid field and as I am leaving I scan for asteroid loot and mine them on the way out.
This.
3 cycles projectile turrets, 4 cycles beam and 1 cycles missile. I'm unable to cycle through beam turrets, or projectile. I assumed it was supposed to be like cycling missile.
I've heard that mining lasers (if they can) will fire on asteroids even if you have the "wrong" turret selected. So maybe try that?
It does. I just can't see where I'm shooting sometimes, because the pov is on the wrong turret(s).
