If your ship has weapons that require ordnance (missiles or mines) and your launchers aren't full, picking up an ordnance crate will refill up to some amount of missiles/mines. That saves you money on having to pay for refills at stations. If you don't have those types of weapons, the ordnance crates are useless and you can't pick them up.

You're welcome. I haven't played Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. I would - the reviews seem good, and I've really enjoyed the original RG - but I have a Mac. RG Outlaw unfortunately isn't available for Mac (and apparently won't be, going by the FAQ at the Double Damage website).

It's some of the same and a lot different at once. You're still dealing with Juno only now she's the main character. You still have space battles only now they're more 'traditional' 3-D dogfighting-style space combat. There's still a story only now it's a lot deeper. You still have trading only now it's less randomized. You've got set stations that sell certain kinds of commodities all the time. You've got a few less ships only the one's you get are far more customized.

Basically it improves on a lot of Rebel Galaxies failings and is closer to the kind of games that inspired it (Wing Commander:Privateer being the main one) but if you prefer fleet-style battling to dogfighting it might take some getting used to.
