Remind me about Net Worth again ?
so went to sys 2 to get a merc to help me with sys 1, down to only 6k credits and using a Scarab with all Mk2 weapons and shields, Sys 1 was ok until i went from beginner ship to the Scarab then all hell broke loose, as soon as i came back into Sys1 a group of capital ships ganged me and blew me up. So im thinking if i went back to the orig ship and put my Mk2 gear on maybe the enemy would tone down abit in Sys 1 ?....is it a net worth prob, the ship+gear+credits ?

Net Worth is Ship + upgrades. You should upgrade defenses first, then weapons etc. After you do that then you can get a better ship. There is no point in jumping to a bigger ship if you don't have the upgrades to stay alive. The moment you get a bigger ship you'll start facing tougher opponents.

i have all Mk2 gear, using Mk2 shields, maybe i need to downgrade my weapons since i have 6 broadsides and 4 turrets and 2 mining lasers, etc. Maybe i just have too many turrets, too much firepower, since im using sys 2 merc now he can do most of the work. I draw too many gnats.

Make sure you're spending more money on weapons than components. If you're going to sell anything sell components first until you have better weapons.

Been a long time sence I played but I do remember when I upgraded my ship all the enemies upgraded with it. So I personaly saved alot of cash to get the next ship and the best weapons I can find. The weapons made it a bit easier. I dont remember if they was mk2 or higher. I went full fire power.

was thinking of going back to the old hammerhead and see how she flies with all mk2 then head out to sys 2 and get mk3 shields and a few mk3 weapons, plus i can see over the steering wheel better. Ive seen vids running hammerhead with Mk6 gear and enemies were just a single pew away in sys 1, im thinking the enemies would faint as he flew by. Thinking i want to own sys 1 and spend more time building up credit reserves before i continue sys 2 storyline. I did get the sys 2 merc so he is a big help.

lol i didnt catch that till now, that does draw attention....nope dont have that prob just an old WOW game handle ive had for years, did like to play the dwarves since they made good drinking jokes and knew how to make a good grog. May end up staying in sys 1, if you get bigger ship, better gear and enemies scale with weapons and ship, wouldnt be able to handle sys 2 since sys 1 still whips my butt....lol

Opposition is based mostly on location then your loadout.
A MK2 Frigate will prretty much the difficulty cap for the first system.

yes im using a mastadon in sys1 now, all mk2 loadouts except armor and hull with mk3. Then also diff loadouts may have a better chance, but mostly using mk2 particle lasers and hugging mission named enemies taking chunks out of their rump roasts letting sys 2 merc handle the gnats.

what can i say, loadout made a big diff, i was setup for melee: beams and laser, went to long range: cannons,flak, pulse turrets....all long range....what a diff.

Particle lasers are not a good choice for a small ship due to their inefficiency vs shields.
they only work well when paired with anti shield weaponry.

yup, small ships dont have the shielding to put up with the melee even tho i was using mk3 shields still wasnt enough for extended melee, Since i have mk3 equip ive noticed now and then in sys 1 i will get a monster cap ship with 3 followers who pop up all the sudden out of nowhere after im leaving a station, has happend twice so far that took me out in 3 shots, instantly set me on fire and burnt my biscuits....at least i was at the station, i had been taking out missions all day long with no prob so this didnt have anything to do with a mission, just a random doomsday present from the friendly cartel.
