Can the Lightborne Monestary be destroyed?
And if so, what are the implications?

Pretty sure not unless the mission requires it.

I have not seen it, no matter how many "The Lightborne are almost wiped out, take another kill them" missions I take and complete.

You see in early in the main quest line when the funny lookin pink dude gives you an infiltration robot to drop off in their monestary to steal an artifact from them. In shooting it, the shields blink signifying damage being taken. But I'm not sure if the shields would ever actually drop. And having saved near the monestary after the before mentioned mission, it seems to have disappeared upon loading the save (never to be seen again?).
only the ones which were referred in 'lights out' missions I guess

I think it can be destroyed. I haven't tried in a pretty long time, though. I usually do the story as I advance, rather than doing something insane like getting a Blackgate and then meeting Orzu.

I am pretty sure the one from the plot can not be destroyed, as you need to send the drone to it to complete the mission.

I accidentally destroyed the plot station, before the drone got out. It somehow still escaped the destroyed station and I picked it up and went on my merry way.

Well, that is quite a plot hole then...

So apparently I could have destroyed it. I hit it for a good minute with mark 2 and 3 weaponry and the shields did not drop. How much of a pounding can it take? Did it being destroyed affect your storyline/gameplay in any way? Did it drop any cargo or anything as destroyed ships do?

I once blew up the Double Jack station before Juno escaped. Didn't cause any problems. It's possible that somehow destroying the monastery before the infiltration mech even launches could cause issues, since the drone projectile is likely programmed to impact the station and then vanish. Next time I feel like getting all the way to Blackgate with Meet Orzu in my mission list, I'll try bombarding it from range.

The ONLY way I got it to blow up was to spam my missiles into the side of it, along with my turrets and broadsides. I can't remember if that is the game where I dwaddled, making money so I could have the Mk6 equipment before continuing the story line. But I would guess it probably was.

Had no affect on the gameworld then? What's the incentive of having mark six equipment before proceeding? Be you silly? O.o
WillieSea Dec 4, 2017 @ 9:22pm
No effect at all.
The incentive was I had never done it yet. So it was a challenge.

Well, actually that was a crappy compound bow I had, but it was my first one. And it was well used. I now have a unique hand made Warthog Magnum, all wood compound bow. I am pretty good with it, but I would hate to have to survive by hunting with it. lol
