LiF:YO What can i do to speed up crops growing ?
Hi, i play single player and read something about this topic already. the gm-command /grow seems to be out of order still, my day length i set to 1 already, i play since 8 rl-days now and still waiting for my crops to get ripe, can i speed that up anyhow ?
Every way welcome here, i run every day for the fields several times for nothing.

Second question is, how do i see that i can harvest ? i don't want to miss that.

Hi,

Several points to know :

1. If you exit the game, no crops will grow. The game state is frozen.

Every new in-game day, there is a maintenance routine executed by the server in order to make crops and trees grow or die. If the game is turned off, this routine is not executed, so nothing grows. (Note that in-game date is calculated according to your computer's real date : so date will have changed when you'll log in again, but you'll see no change in your world.)

If you play on a multiplayer server, which is always online, you don't need to be present at midnight. That's why the game is advertised on the store page as multiplayer only. It's not designed to be a single player game. If you really want to play it as single player on your personal computer, you must leave the game running.

2. Crops need 4 weather changes (from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair) to reach middle state, then another 4 weather changes (from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair) to fully grow. Other weather conditions (Cloudy and Snowy), and same weather conditions several days in a row, will not be taken in account. It's well explained in the official FAQ, along with pictures (they'll show you when to harvest) : https://lifeisfeudal.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/214347465-New-crops-mechanics

See also this link : https://lifeisfeudal.gamepedia.com/Weather

3. If you want to know the default weather calendar, you can check my guide : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=868434625

4. If you use the /weather command, beware that the weather will be stuck until next server restart. Weather stuck = no growth.

5. I never used the /grow command, but did you try to use it several times ? Wiki says about this command :
grow crops on a current part of terrain as if one in game day had passed.
You will need to call that command 4 times in order to see crops changes

Thanks for the answer. I tried the /grow-command 5 times, standing in my field, no change..so it still seems not working.
Interesting what you say about the weather changes, but i think i did not understand it fully. What about when i change the weather and then log out, log in again and change the weather again, to ignore the server being stuck in a weather condition ?
I mean, when i do that 8 times, would the server accept this as weather changes and my crops would be ripe ?

2. After this, would the server return to normal, without stucked weather ? Or is the weather stuck forever, whenever i use this command ?

I never tried it, but I guess you need to set weather for example to Fair, then you need to wait for the next in-game day (without leaving the game), then you change the weather to Shower, then you wait for the next in-game day, then you change weather to Fair, and so on.

Growth ticks occur when the in-game date changes.

ok, so can you tell me how i can see the ingame-date or -time to control if the new day began ?

Then i try what you suggested

Simply press M to display the map. You'll see the date.

You could also accelerate the weather cycle by modifying the calendar definition file.

For local server games you find it at:

<steam folder>\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your own\server\data\weather\cm_weather1.xml

Here's the version i use for my SP game, it alternates Fair/Shower every day, even in the winter:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ytde2tdnaww8vh6/cm_weather1.xml?dl=0

I recommend to backup the original version before overwriting it; and after a patch you probably would have to apply the change again.

I accidentally deleted the original weather-file..can you post it in here pls, in case i want to switch back one day. my food bar is running down like hell, not sure if its the weather-file or my setting 1-hour = 1 day ingame

Just let Steam validate your local game files: it will write back the original weather config, then you can back it up.
(right click on LiF YO in your library: properties -> local files -> verify integrity of local files)

I don't think the day/weather cycle changes food consumption. It seems to depend on how much you are working. When i idle for a long time hunger barely changes.

Ok, thank you for the info ! Have a nice weekend mate.

as GM use this comand : /growcrops
you need to use this comand on same square 8 times to grow full
you will know when they are ready to harvest (they will change color)
remember that use 8 times the comand if they are 0 grow state ...if you use the comand more than 8 times or crops already on fase 2/3 crops will die...

Would it be possible to add a script to the server startup which counts the number of in-game days that have passed since the last time played and adds growth tics to match?

Try to set up a dedicated server and try to shift your locale onto that server, so you can let the game run without being logged in.

Good luck on handling with the database stuff... ;)
