Introduction
In spite of appearances, weather is not random in Life is Feudal: Your Own. Below is the default weather calendar, assuming that your server admin didn't change it of course.

Now you can know what the weather will be like tomorrow in your game ! You can also know when your crops will be ready to be harvested (see explanations in the following section).

Tip : In order to know the date of the day in game, just display the map.
Crops mechanics

As explained by devs, crops receive growth increment once sunny weather changes into shower weather and vice versa. All other types of weather (cloudy and snowy) are not taken into account.

Crops growth :
  • 4 weather changes (from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair) for crops to reach middle state
  • 4 weather changes (from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair) for crops to fully grow
  • 4 weather changes (from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair) for crops to die

It's the change from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair which matters. If you get for example three sunny days in a row, your crops don't receive growth increment the second and third days.

So, as you can see in the calendar below, during Winter, crops don't grow at all, because there is only one weather change that matters, at the very end of February.

Last day to plant crops before Winter
According to the explanations above and to the calendar below, the very last day you can plant if you want to harvest before Winter is November 4. But if it's a leap year (see the following section for explanations), it is November 3.
Warning : Leap years
Beware !

If the current year in game is a leap year (with an additional day), this calendar will be shifted one day after the additional 29 February, and you'll have to look at day + 1. It means that to know the weather for 10 March in game, for example, you need to check 11 March in the calendar below. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Tip : Any year that is evenly divisible by 4 is a leap year. The year 1040, for example, is a leap year, since 1040 / 4 = 260.
Troubleshooting
If weather in your game doesn't match the calendar below, or if your crops don't grow, check these points :
  • ask the admin of your server if he didn't modify the cm_weather1.xml file. Maybe he used the Weather XML Generator by Nyuton.
  • check if it's a leap year. For more explanations, see the "Warning : Leap years" section of this guide.
  • ask the admin and the GMs of your server if they used a console command to change the weather in game. It's a common mistake made by GMs. For example it was raining and a GM used a console command to stop the rain and change to a sunny day. After that, the weather will be stuck until the next server restart ! Weather stuck = calendar mismatch and no more crops or apples growing... So don't do that !
  • your server must run 24/7. When your server is shut down, the days still go by but your crops will not grow. That's how the game is designed. That's why LiF:YO is advertised as multiplayer only, and there is no singleplayer mode. Of course it allows you to host a server on your PC, but you still have to run it 24/7.

Credits
Special thanks to matantemetal, my partner in crime who introduced me to LiF:YO, and who taught me how to play, with the patience of a saint. She is a wonderful teacher, and the Queen of shoveling !
Many thanks to King Cador, Peter and Atikamekw who kindly accepted me on their servers. Great admins !
And of course, thanks to Bitbox for their amazing game. Long life to LiF !
Conclusion
Don't forget : life is feudal !

I could not have said it better than matantemetal. Thanks to her :)

To my knowledge no.
And I think it would be very difficult to create one because so many factors come into play in the times, qualities and quantities of the results.
Player skills, server settings, soil and seed quality and timing all already add several settings that will affect the results.

But when it comes to simple times to harvest, most of the time, the least cloudy months and periods are the best.

Has anyone done up an optimal spreadsheet/timetable for an all year round planting /harvesting schedule?

No problem. As explained in the Crops mechanics section, "it's the change from Fair to Shower or from Shower to Fair which matters. If you get for example three sunny days in a row, your crops don't receive growth increment the second and third days". So, if there are three rains back to back, you don't have any crop growth tick.

Or, in other words, on a Fair day you get a crop growth tick if it's the first Fair weather since the last Shower, and on a Shower day you get a crop growth tick if it's the first Shower weather since the last Fair.
