Civ 6 Demo

Do not understand why a demo for Civ 6 is not available to the general public or at least to those who have pre-purchased the game. It is unfair for gamers on YouTube having access to the demo and we can only watch them…. NOOOOOOOO!

It isn't a demo. It's a press release. It's an older, outdated build. The AI is locked to Prince, and isn't very smart at the moment. Half of the civs are missing. Only 3 maps types, only two games speeds. It has some bugs and it is incomplete - not the sort of thing you want to use as a sales aid to the public.

Also, as far as I am aware, 2K rarely do pre-release demos, if ever.

Firaxis is working on a pure cost vs. gain mentality, which is cold but makes sense. The idea of releasing the press editions of the game is to build hype for the game so if they're going to be giving a taste of their game away for free they sure as heck want to do their best to ensure they aren't just handing it over to pirates but folk who will enthusiastically spread the word on their game in a mostly positive way. I don't think Joe Smith calling them up with, "No I'm not a member of the gaming press nor do I have a YouTube Channel, but I REALLY WANT a preview copy please!" is going to get far.
