No Persia? WTF?
So let me get this straight, a civ that has been in EVERY civ game since the second one and never as DLC is just suddenly not be heard of? They released a trailer for TWO greek leaders and not another faction? I dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about Leonidus's wife. I want to play as the Ottomans, The Persians, The Mongols not a re skin of the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ civ.

Is firaxes really going to insult us and offer a long time civ as ♥♥♥♥ing DLC? Granted I may have personal bias becuase is my favorite civ to play as but CMON! Their DLC practices are getting ridiculious. I mean Civ V luanched with more civs then civ 6 seems to have.

I honestly will not buy the game if it doesnt luanch with it and is later sold as DLC (not at all if they never release it) Not until a massive sale simply becuase im sick and tired of these AAA devs breaking up major aspects/characters/endings of their game to be sold as over priced DLC.

Also pre order bonus Aztecs? ♥♥♥♥ING REALLY?

go join mr ottoman. there is 19 on release, Persia did not make the cut.

Damn if thats really the case then I wont be dropping any money for civ 6.

Also, there were 18 civs when Civ5 launched. There are 19 civs and 20 leaders with the Civ6 launch. So no, Civ6 does not launch with fewer civs/leaders then Civ5.

I'll say what I said to the guy ranting about no Ottoman Empire. You say this like that's supposed to mean something to us. Don't buy the game if it doesn't have what you want in it. That's your right. It's also your right to not purchase the DLC if and when it releases (I'm betting Persia will eventually show up), as it wouldn't be base game. It's also your right to change your mind and buy it should it release. But whether you do makes little difference to the rest of us.

However many Civs they put in the base game there will always be those who complain their Civs didn't make the cut. Are some Civs more logical than others to include, sure. Are there any that are absolutely essential the game cannot function without? No. This go around Persia didn't make the base game to allow some new representation into the game. After all, if they just picked 18 Cis to release in a base game, and then 9 and 9 for the expansions, and never changed up those Civs at all, I'd have to question what the point was more than some change ups.

Honestly im just expressing my dissapointment for the removal of a long time faction. I will probably pre order the game anyway but I cant help but feel dissapointed. I feel its as if TF3 came out but without the heavy if you got what I feel.

The game is very modable, you'll be able to make your own Persia in no time :)
BadMojo Oct 12, 2016 @ 2:52pm
Persia will be in 1st expansion, if not 1st wave of DLC. I'll put $$ on it.

The civ deck gets shuffled with every iteration. Persia was in the starting line up for both Civ IV and V. Now they're not. By way of comparison, Mongolia was a starter in Civ IV, became a free post launch update for Civ V, and might not show up at all for Civ VI because of the Scythians.

♥♥♥♥ happens. Screaming on a forum doesn't change that. Be patient. Be civil. Persia will show up eventually.

As donald mentioned, Civ V also had 18 civs at launch. And, as a matter of fact, Mongolia hadn't made the original cut in V, but were rather released as a free DLC later on. Also, like some people have already said, they'll probably be one of the first DLC civs, and, if not, they'll most likely come with one of the expansions. Spain didn't make the original cut in V; they were DLC. And neither did Brazil, which only came out in the last expansion. It's nice to see Firaxis spicing things up by adding new civs, and by adding multiple leaders with unique abilities.
The Irregular Oct 12, 2016 @ 3:26pm
Granted it would have been nice to see the persian in the game, i find it that people will complain just as much if the game was releasesd with the same civs and leaders as V. The game is meant to be refreshed and reinvented, such as the inclusion of new civs and removal of old ones. Im sure that the Persians will come out as dlc but a game warrants new ideas.
Greygamer Oct 12, 2016 @ 9:40pm
If you have the same civs people complain "same old boring civs". if you leave some out at release they complain about who is left out.
Lose-lose situation?

make it yourself you can mod in this game :steammocking:

Civilization VI Developers -- Why exclude the Persian Civilization ???
I have been playing the CIV games right from its infant days of CIV I and every release had the Persian civilization. Now suddenly I see this civilization excluded. My question to the developers of CIV6 - Why have you'll not included the Persian Civilization in this release of civilization. It is very disappointing that the civ6 does not include the mighty and cradle of civilization Persia in this release. Please provide me the reason for it!!!

cheers

GM Pax Oct 16, 2016 @ 1:33am
It's simple, Jaguar:

They cannot include every possible civilization fo note and importance, in the base game. Persia is very likely to be available post-launch - maybe in a full expansion, maybe as a civ-and-scenario DLC, but very very likely nonetheless.

In Civ3, "Arabia" wasn't in the base game; it was added in the first expansion. Sumer was addedin the second expansion.

...

And, absolute worst case? The game will be moddable. You can put your OWN civilization in, and play it happily.
Red_warning Oct 16, 2016 @ 2:16am
No Babylonia either. But they are almost guaranteed to be included in dlc/expansions so I'm not worried.
