I've been naming my civ since editing the text file in the original to change the developer name (like everyone).....
saved $60, what a let down!

Change the files in <install_folder>\Base\Assets\Text\en_US
it will be obvious when you get there.
YES, it's worth having to do it after the fact.

Now I can go play the game in peace!

As I said in another threat, if it's a bug, that's all well and good, it happens. If it's simply not implemented for launch, then that's pretty lame. Hopefully it's on the way in either case.

this was my first thought too, but I can't get it to work. I edited both lines in the "CityNames_Text.xml" file, but it still defaults. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. :(

you cant edit both. the first line is the games "lookup" for what object to use. The second line is what it will show on screen when that obect is suppose to be used.

Ok but if you change city name and you have a random choice for the second and third etc .... civ it's bad.

11 may-be so the city-states are 1 so 10 for 1 capital and 0 (random) for second etc ...
