Sugar. What.
Why is it that every time I see a sugar resource, it's worth 5 food? I get that it typically spawns on flood plains or marshes, but having sugar outclass wheat and rice as a source of population growth seems kinda wacky. I got a Sumeria start with 3 sugars next to my capitol and two more a short ways down a river, giving me about 5 tiles that give 5 food each, without being improved. Took a pantheon for culture from plantations and improved them, 5 food, 1 gold, 1 culture is kind of an absurd tile for so early in the game, imo. At least it should be more balanced with rice and wheat, which aren't even treated as luxuries and require a lot of techs and adjacencies to compete.
