Wonders disappearing
I was one or two turns from completing Oxford University, but the wonder the tile is being built on vanishes when it's supposed to be finished. Literally, vanishes and I have an empty tile ready for an improvement to be built. Nobody else has built it.

Anyone else have this bug, and if so, how to fix it?

Are you sure no-one else built it? Sometimes you can miss notifications.

that happens whenever someone else finished a wonder first. the wonder just vanishes.

Stupid. you should be able to keep a faction of the industial load you just put into the wonder you just spent building for 20+ turns. makes no sence to just vanish, what have my people been working on all this time?

Had it happen with hagia sophia. It vanished but when i made apostles they had three conversions, and no i didnt have mosques.
There is definitly a bug around wonders.

It makes even less sense to give you a huge production advantage to something else. Suddenly the half-completed Hagia Sophia gets converted into an industrial zone? How is that more justifiable?

not all of it, would be nice to have the half completed Hagia Sophia be converted into a half or partially completed indusial Zone. or have a big industial bonus on the turn after the vanishing wonder. Making wonders still risky to build but not completely wasteful if someone beats you to it.

This is one of my biggest complaints. Notifications are too easily missed. Most importantly when trade deals expire
But ya for what the OP said that wonder got built by someone else.
I miss the civ5 wonder fail sound and separated wonder notifications

The whole 1 wonder really does not make sence to begin with. Why would someone stop building something just because some other country on the other side of the globe that they have never heard of beat them to it? But it is the game mechanic so I don't see it changing.

Two other wonders were built around the time I was supposed to be finished, but none of them were of what I was building.

Does it appear as something you are able to build in any of your cities?

If not, someone built it.

Game abstraction rule.

This is definitely happening -- it happened to me with Chichen Itza. There was no gold and production refund, no notification of it being built, it simply disappeared like everyone claims.

It was part of my plan to build it in my capital from the start and I was first to learn Guilds and start building it.

Yes - This is working as intended.

this is a real bug

first off, there was no announcement of another civ building it

second, I tried going back 10 turns and extended the amount of time it took me to build it - it didn't disappear before getting to turn 0. if another civ was building it and stealing it from me at the last minute, they would finish it at the same time regardless of me extending the time I'm taking to build it.

I'm watching the turn end with my cursor hovering over the space where it's being built and it's identified in the info box, then a moment later the box hasn't updated but the map no longer shows my half built wonder. oddly the road through the hex where I was building it has a space in it where the wonder used to be.

annoying bug

Same to me with the construction of the "oracolous".... it simply disappears....it was 4 or 5 turns next to be finished and simply "puff"...all vanished....
