Getting the Band Back Together Achievement

Hi there,

Does anyone know whether the achievement "Getting the Band Back Together" (Unlock every Governor, and have them established at the same time before the game reaches the Industrial Era) is bugged or require any special tricky to be achieved?

Yesterday I was playing with Phillip from Spain, and got all governors established long before industrial age, but the achievement never came.

Just a guess (I have no idea if this is it or not but I have my suspicions) but try putting Amani in one of your own cities rather than in a CS?

Currently this achievement can only be completed when playing the Ottomans, because you also have to have the Ottoman-only governor unlocked and in a city. Presumably this is a bug that will be addressed in a future patch, but I haven't personally heard any official confirmation of that.

There may be a bug with this achievement while running with all the DLCs. I have an Ottoman game with all seven governors assigned to cities by the beginning of the Renaissance era, and the achievement does not trigger. I have tried it with governors in a mix of cities I conquered and settled, in just cities I settled, and with Amani in a city state and in one of my cities.

If you are trying to get this achievement with Secret Societies mode turned on, you will probably need to turn it off to get the achievement.

When playing the Ottomans, there are a total of eight governors available. You will need to have all eight unlocked and established in cities to get the achievement.

I haven't tried it personally (no way to test since I have already unlocked the achievement), but it also might be possible to play a game using a pre-Gathering Storm rules set to get this achievement. The Ottomans were introduced with Gathering Storm, and require GS to be available. I assume that when playing earlier rules sets the achievement would unlock without needing to play the Ottomans and without needing to get eight governors.

I got this achievement a LONG time ago. Before this last year of updates and DLC's. And i didn't need Ottoman either to get it.

Getting this achievement before Gathering Storm was released was fairly trivial.

you might have to wait until industrial era for it to pop.

or, as someone else have mentionned maybe if you sent a governor to a city state, it doesn't count. reassign it to one of your cities

I just got this achievement 5 turns after hiring all 7 governors. I only have 6 cities, the 6th governor is still 3 turns away from being established, and I'm still constructing my settler for the 7th city. Only 8 turns from flipping to Industrial Era. I had to set it back to the Rise and Fall expansion rule set. I have not been able to get this achievement with Gathering Storm enabled. (For clarity, editing that the 7th governor is not assigned to a city state or one of my cities)

I finally got this achievment. I played nippon and disabled GS. Your govs dont need to be established simultaniously and u dont need ottomans. Maybe there is a correct sequence of gouveneurs..

Just adding I had the same issue with this achieve. After several attempts, I finally started a game with only Rise and Fall enabled -- no GS. I got the achieve with the city-state governor emplaced in a city-state.

I was able to get this by just setting the game to Rise and Fall but when i attempted it on GS it wouldn't trigger for some reason. I was able to rush it in like 100 turns by playing as Trajan (for the free early culture) and spamming out enough cities early on and then getting the Government plaza for the 2 titles.

People report difficulty getting several of the achievements, and the common feature seems to be that the game has been changed since the achievement was coded in ways that affect some or other aspect of the coding. In this case it's presumably governors, with extra one added in one of the modes and with the Ottomans. But, since two people report that they were able to get the achievement with R&F, but not GS, it could be some other change in how things were coded between those two releases.

The devs seem hard-pressed enough keeping up with preventing new features they introduce from conflicting with old coding. The achievements are probably something they fob off on unpaid interns at Firaxis, and all the interns are now busy working on Civ 7, so forget about the achievements ever being deconflicted. They didn't even bother to add new achievements for all the new leaders in the latest pack.

just tested:
to get the achievment in "gathering storm"-DLC you need to play as Suleiman/Ottomans and have all 8 Governors (including suleimans special one) active before the industrial era starts

and they never patched it. "AAA" studios are the worst.
