Barbarian camps broken?
I've had 3 games now on diety where a barb camp spawns a unit every single turn to the point that it starts out teching me/AI with unit spawns.

Turn 18 atm and they have started spawning archers every turn, beating myself and the AI to archers. Barbs currently have 6 warriors/3 archers that I know of, the AI killed 3wars and the spearman before losing, pretty much game over just to the never ending spawn at this point.

I tried fighting it in another game, everytime I got one of their warrior spawns low they would spawn a new full hp warrior and put it in the camp, when they started spawning horsemen 10turns before anyone else in the game could I just gave up.

They're functioning as intended. Enjoy them, they're the most challenging thing the AI can throw at you.

That has not been my experience. They tend to spawn more units if the camp is within 6 tiles of horses sometimes I swear they spawn units a little fast when near minerals as well. Often an early camp near horses can be a tough challange as youll have to fight off about 3-5 units if your on top of things, more if you leave them alone for 20 turns. Otherwise its mostly a unit every 5-10 turns and the raging barbarians if you fail to stop a scout.

If your seeing 2 units spawning a turn they are have had a scout return and set the camp to raging.

You do have to give up the early game to make your early expansion secure for sure. You cant get away with a weak military start in civ 6.

The annoying thing, and likely what you're experiencing, is that the AI's failure to competently deal with barbarians becomes your headache. The AIs units die? More barbarians spawn that you have to deal with. AIs doesn't intercept the Barbarians scouts? More barbarians spawn that you will have to deal with.

And I'm almost certain that Barbarians are more aggressive against the player than the AI. I had a game a week ago where, on an inland sea map, Sumeria to my north had an encampment in the northwestern-most corner of the map, roughly 9 tiles outside their borders, that throughout the ages had spawned around a dozen, if not more, units. All these units nearby, and not a single barbarian was ransacking Sumeria's lands despite them having next-to-no militairy (I'd been crushing them) and all nearby tiles in their two cities improved. If that'd been me, those barbs would've been taking my builders and encircling my city centers. I mean, I have screenshots of a game where at one time I literally had 15 barbarian horsemen / horse-archers actively attacking my cities by around turn 85 on standard speed.

It's also complete BS that the AI can let a scout get away, and the barbarians will beeline for your territory over theirs. I've seen this explicitly happen thrice so far, and have likely been on the recieving end of it many times more.

so what I might be seeing those games is an AI got scouted near the camp but outside of my field of view at the time, which then set the camp to raging which spawns units every turn?

It could create the impression of every turn, they spawn in waves. I dont have exact details but during a raging barbarian camp Ive seen them spawn every couple of turns for about 10 turns usually in doubles.

This was my fear when I heard about Civ6. They took the thing that was most wrong with Civ:BE and doubled down on it with Civ6. Quitelly simply your most significant AI opponant is the barbrians. The problem with that is that it's never applied equally. You can sart a game and have one civ that has basically no bar problems and and another that's getting hit from all sides. It's not that you can't beat barbarians it just creates aneven speed bump.

Easy solution, just turn them off.

Basically the barbarians are the only real combat challenge in the game:)
