21:9 didn't work with the early access part of the game, so why would it work with the finished product?
First of all, 21:9 worked with 1.02 version of the game and it was close to flawless. After they patched the game to 1.03, the mod stopped working obviously and needs to be updated by whoever made it, which will take time that I'm willing to spend doing something else. However, if one guy can fix it, why doesn't the active developper (3 patches in 2 days) just support it officially rather than making us wait for fans to fix it.
Is that too much to ask for really? Regardless I'm enjoying the game with or without the support, But i would love to play this masterpiece the best way I possibly can.
It's up to the developer to fix their own game. And for $70, they should. I expect a game to display properly on my monitor. If a dev can't even get that right, then they're not getting my money.
And, yes, I'm baffled as to why a person would buy something they know isn't going to work. I'm going to assume you either played the early access version of the game, or at least heard that 21:9 didn't work.
Sorry, but you either a) didn't do your homework, or b) are extremely naive.
The game itself is great and performs outstanding, i'm not gonna skip it just because it doesn't natively support 21:9 resolutions, yet, it's perfectly fine to ask for it.
As for the fix it's up to you whither you use it or not. I'm not going to judge you for that so stop judging people choices...
I'm perfectly happy with what I have, but it's OK to ask for more. The developper seems active anyways.
Ultra Widescreen Support 21:9 and multi-monitor aspect ratios <FIX for 1.03 Inside>
Thank you ... :)
- Calculate your aspect ratio
For example:
5985/1080 = 5.541666666666667
- Convert it to hex value here - http://babbage.cs.qc.cuny.edu/IEEE-754/
You get - 40 B1 55 55
Now write bytes from right to left, so it will be 55 55 B1 40
- Open mgsvtpp.exe in HEX-editor
- Find value 39 8E E3 3F and change it to 55 55 B1 40
- Save file
- Play
Done.
All aspect ratios need to be supported.
Okay, thanks.
But if it really is this easy, then why didn't the developer fix it themselves? Are there no associated glitches.
Thanks for posting that, though.
10 hours into the game and no gliches so far for me, working flawlessly I'd say. I'm guessing that the developper needs to do enough testing for those resolutions to support them offically, that's all.
All credit goes to Jackfuste, but you're welcome.
