METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Only develop 4 items at a time in endgame?
Why can I only develop 4 items at a time when in endgame? With research times of literally weeks. Is this a joke? When did MGS become farmville/ clash of clans. I am so thoroughly disappointed in this. Ruins it for me. Thanks you greedy ♥♥♥♥♥. MB coins... give me a break. Fire whoever made that decision.

I can develop 10 singleplayer items. If you are researching "gold" items it means it's online items, it means it's mainly for FOB gameplay. Do you play FOB that much? Then you wait one week or you pay MB coins. The items research mechanics are from Peace Walker. Anyway since 2015 I received around 4000 MB and got free FOB's and MGO items. Not saying the MT are finebut these are not intrusive like other games.

I am in endgame and have only "gold" items left to develop. I am a huge Metal Gear fanboy and have bought all the Playstation titles MGS 1 - 4 and loved them, beat them fully to the point of getting stealth camoflage and infinity bandana. I enjoy getting everything that the game has to offer. With this game however, the creators are more concerned about me buying MB coins to fully complete the game. I play FOB missions all of the time and it is clearly a "pay-to-win" setup. Very disappointing.

i am a Phantom Pain superfan. Over 2500 hours. 100% completion, 100% development.
4 FOBs, over 3800 FOB successful infiltrations.
There is no pay to win. I've never bought MB coins.
MB coins are offered for free on Wed, Sat, Sun.

Because of how costly and potentially game-breaking the endgame gold items are, 4 gold items at once is plently.
You will need to grind ALOT of FOBs to offset the cost of development. So don't worry.
Have patience and more importantly, have fun.

Exactly.

Also keep in mind that gold items are researched in real-time, even if you're not playing the game.

I understand... in order to get everything without spending money, I just need to put 2500 hours into the game and grind the same FOBs thousands of times. You guys are right, that's so much better than how MGS 1-4 did things...
Hyperbole, much. You're looking at a couple hundred hours, probably a bit more. And, if it bothers you that much, use mods for infinite resources and instan research for offline items. Then, you'll only have to spend time to unlock online items, and you don't even have to play to do it.

look i hate to be honest because i don't know if you are trolling or not, BUT

let's be honest:

1. if you're complaining now, you're probably not going to unlock all the endgame content anyway.
2. if you're complaining now, you're not ready for the highly repetitive (although fun) FOB gameplay
3. if you're complaining now, you are going to be no match for the players that have spend hundreds of hours perfecting PvP and infiltration FOB techniques.
4. if you're complaining now, you're most likely a casual player. casual players don't get too far in FOBs
5. if you're complaining now, you'll probably sink maybe 250 hours and then move on to another game

So don't worry about it.

I am hitting that wall just now. Having a lot of fun doing FOB infiltrations (and still not skilled enough to tackle properly guarded platforms) but I've gone from wondering how I'll afford the 12 million GMP and 500k resource platform upgrades to having about 10 development projects queued up because I have the money but I'm waiting on the current stuff to finish.

But I still need to get more MB coins before I can purchase my final FOB base so one way or another it'll be a slow grind. Not in a massive hurry though because it's really only going to make FOB invasions easier and at the moment my skill needs to improve more so than my equipment.

I know I'm necroing a 7 year old thread, but this is one of the most delusional takes I've ever seen, specifically this

That's a long ahh time to be sinking in a game, a single player focused game no less. The timers this game has, with some developments taking 7 REAL LIFE days to complete is absurd. No singleplayer game should demand that much time to complete basic tasks, worse, multiple times at that. Why are we defending anti-consumer practices encouraged to entice players into buying premium currencies
