So Paz is dead, right?

I was reading the plots for Ground Zeroes and TPP(not considered spoiling myself). In GZ, Paz got two bombs in her body and jumped out from Big Boss' heli when the 2nd bomb could not be retrieved. In TPP, there is a side quest that includes Paz, but the whole side quest is a fig of imagination in Big Boss' mind?

There is no ambiguity, you see her explode in Ground Zeroes. Who can survive a bomb that explode inside you?
You're told right from the begining of TPP that Venom can have hallucinations, and after the side-quest they tell you very explicitly that it was in Venom's head. Is there really place to ask if Paz is alive?

EDIT: forgot to say that even if the bomb didn't actually explode in GZ, they still had to remove her stomac and stuff to make place for the bomb so even then she was doomed to die in 24h or so.

i think her stomach is still there since Snake told Chico to 'keep her gut in,' but she was probably going to die from bloodloss anyway.

Her guts means her intestines, not her stomac. Anyway in one of the tape ( dont remember which one ) the doctor who put the bomb in DID say he had to remove some things to make place for the bomb, so no place for argument here.

What are you guys talking about? Paz is not dead. She's on the medical platform. The same platform as Quiet. Meet with Paz, she's gone coocoo. She thinks it's a whole different decade, although she knows Snake and Ocelot, she's not quite all there and keeps asking for the Professor. Apparently an old college professor of hers. Ocelot explains what happened to Paz, then you realize that it didn't happen exactly how you think you remember it.

After your meeting with Paz on the Medical deck, Paz puts out these Keep Out, Authorized Personnel Only signs in various places on the Medical Deck. On the one's around Quiet's cage the two girls are having a writing p!ss!ng match between them. On one of the signs Paz writes Die! Go Home and Quiet responds Quiet's Here!, which I took it to mean something a bit strong, like Quiet's Here B!tch, Deal with it!. On another sign Paz writes, Talk or Die and Quiet responds, Go to Hell! FREAK. Find Paz on the Medical Platform and read the rest of the signs yourself.

All of this leading me to think that Paz isn't as out of it as everyone thinks she is. She knows exactly what she's doing.

tbh she's the same as huey. they both made conscious decisions not to side with big boss but hid it from him for the best possible moment to turncoat. they're both sociopaths.
