1. She is certainly dead in chapter 4-1. But in RE universe, hour-long dead-body can still miraculously reanimate (if plot requires it). So I won't pursue the matter.
Since Alex is only infected with T-phobos, people suggested Alex felt fear before death. The mutation happens after Claire and Moira left the room. Since Alex is also super-human, she mutates instead of succumbing to painful death like other females.
5. I forgot to mention, due to lack of female afflicted, it was suggested T-phobos kills female with painful death, instead of mutation. With islanders as example, Alex must have learned this long before. Also why there is no zombie Irina. Of course this is why Alex is so confident Claire and Moira will die a painful death when they finally succumb to fear. This accidentally answered my 5th question, why Moira didn't turn. She suffered a painful death on bad ending. On good ending, Moira is supposed to have conquered all possible fear (gun accident), even resolved her issue with Barry. She felt more sadness than fear. Thus she is no longer affected by T-phobos.
2. Are there written record of Alex testing Uroboros on herself? I know she got samples of Uroboros. She only inject Uroboros just before Barry fight. I guess on finding out she can't beat Black Natalia with only T-phobos mutation, she seek something more powerful. Guess I need to replay the game and read the files more properly X-D
2. Alex learned from Albert (and Spencer) death that biological eternal existence is impossible. She switched to eternal conciousness existence.
She blows up the tower as sign that her research is complete and wanted to destroy all surface evidence. Since the actual concious transfer facility is underground, with Natalia secured. Suicide triggers the self-destruct.
The silly thing here is finding out later, her project didn't work as expected. Explains Alex desperation to terminate Natalia. The oddity is upon discovering Black Natalia (chapter 3-2), she is supposed to be overjoyed things work and leave Natalia alone, but Alex goes on further murderous rampage.
If there is no other explanation, I have to accept Alex has gone mad with jeolousy. Change in personality is actual effect of T-phobos mutation, shown on all afflicted and Pedro, from fear to sadistical.
4. Natalia only specialty is her high tolerance to fear (to level of seemingly unable to feel fear). Not a super-human. How the bracelet knows Natalia has conquered fear is still a mystery. Coincidentally, Alex needs a host who can co-exist with T-phobos without triggering it.
Now problem starts: Every kidnapped people are injected with T-phobos! Not Natalia alone!
My guess is: person immune to mutating effect of T-phobos + injected with T-phobos + conciousness of super-human = super Natalia. All must be present.
Moira also conquered fear, but she doesn't have Natalia's power. Maybe the power will awake later.
Maybe its intented as hidden surprise for later series. Imagine Sherry, Jake and Moira, the 3 super-human against Alex Natalia.
With the progenitor virus heavily involved, I guess I have to stop here. There are just too much external information, required playing other RE games. I'm not that commited
Our brain are nothing but nerve cells (neurons) that communicate by electro-chemical signalling. Pick up the signals and you can know subject's feeling.
What RE is to me?:
Honestly, the original RE1 opening movie best represent style and true intention: B-grade single-episode horror movie. Characters are sterotypes and plots are over-used. They have no intention of taking things too seriously.
Just like you written above, the settings has been twisted too much, accordingly to whoever currently in charge, catering to the taste of that time. Now RE became mega-franchise and valuable IP, dev got unnecessarily serious.
Insta-mutation-transformation:
Come to think about it, RE1 has no instant-mutation at all. Every creatures gradually mutated over a period of time. Making it the most accurate representation.
RE1 is scary despite being ridiculous. RE5 and 6 had become too ridiculous to be scary. RE7 feels more like Silent Hill to me.
2. The transfer worked, the computers confirmed that in the scene she kills herself.
3. She considers Natalia a copy and herself the original. Essentially, she went insane with this idea of having two of herself and figuring out which is the real one. Rather standard identity crisis issue in sci-fi involving clones or digital personality backups. Heck, the entirety of SOMA is based around this.
4. She does have a supervirus, the same one Albert used on himself. Apparently, it is programmed to trigger when the Alex personality takes over the brain functions.
5. Moira is female and a note in Claire 3-1 clearly states that when the virus triggers in females, they simply bleed out and die. Like the woman in 1-1. She died when she got trapped under the rocks in the "bad" ending. (Although getting rid of Moira is a good ending in my book.)
I will do a slower rerun to looks for those pesky notes.
2,3. Lolz, Alex being so (over?) confident that her program work. Not sure if its her character flaw or just plot requirement. Now it seems more like her character flaw (Alex had disillusion that she's perfect).
4. Natalia got injected with T-phobos, which is derived from progenitor virus, effectively making Natalia also have the progenitor supervirus. Learned that from drae-perin. Thanks!
5. Gina also didn't turned in chapter1-1. The scene was confusing, so I keep focused on Gina dying from injury, forgot that she should mutate. If only they made Gina screaming in mysterious pain, not from injury, then scene is easier to understand.
Claire and Moira may become continuity issue since they are both injected with T-phobos, thus are effective carrier. Maybe both are treated with Daylight on returning to civilization. Then Natalia becomes an issue on why she never receive treatment. I guess next episode's writer will figure a way out, if there is a next episode.
Moira other than foul mouthed (learned f-bombs and s-bombs from Barry. See Chapter4-2), she is vastly more useful than Ashley X-D. Sadly AI is dumb. Also Moira is my best raid character.
Natalia is infected by T-Phobos, but most likely also something else. As for that virus, she seems to be permanently psichologically scarred from the event that made her an orphan. It can actually happen, your brain forever removing certain emotions from you after extreme trauma. Common in war-torn places.
Claire is totally wasted opportunity. She grew up to become a boring adult. Remember back in 98, Claire was 19, wore biker jacket, cowboy boots and rode a Harley. A rough-n-tough girl who had to learned to handle things by herself, an instant badass.
Current Claire is like 2005 one, an unrecognizable corporate suit.
I guess Claire's tragedy is being too close of become lead female character. Writer can't differentiate her from Jill.
Hmm, come to think about it, Moira is probably at Claire's age in RE2. Not sure if the character contrast is intentional. Luckily Moira got character growth in 'The Struggle'. Claire now in early 30s is getting a little old for younger players. Time to pass the baton. But Moira will never be as badass as Claire once was.
Already forgotten about Steve X-D, oddly, I still remember Billy and Carlos. But with Jake+Sherry too similar to Billy+Becky, and are the latter are side characters, I am afraid there is no more chance of Billy returning (he will be too old anyway).
Natalia setting is simplifed to move story faster. The perfect candidate at perfect timing, exactly when Claire got abducted together.
