Raid Mode Unlocks Without Campaign?
I own all episodes and some DLC from a sale, but I've only played Claire's section of the first episode on my account. I really only care about Raid Mode at this point, because I'm super into the arcadey minigames in modern RE, and I'm wondering how much of it requires completing the campaign?

Rev 1 unlocks stages through completing Story Mode, but that wasn't such a big deal, because it was a much shorter game. I don't wanna go through the trouble of replaying this solo.

If there are unlocks exclusive to Story, would someone else's save work for me? A completed campaign with a clean Raid Mode would be the coolest.

I don't think you can unlock raid mode without finishing campaign unless you use a friend's account (family share) providing s/he finished all missions in Raid Mode. Even under this situation, you still need to unlock mission by mission in Raid Mode.

I don't know where did you hear or read that RER is much shorter than RER2, but that's not true at all. Both campaigns are roughly the same length, and if you want to get through RER2 story fast you can play on Easy and you'll be probably done with it in about 6 hours.

Raid mode unlock at the start, I haven't even cleared campaign mode and already gotten up to code Red Series. Did not need a cleared game save or a friend to host, I just played raid since the whole swap character in campaign got on my nerves.

Raid mode acts like a completely separate game here. It has its own currency system that is independent from the currency you use in the main campaign, and to unlock all levels you only need the four campaign episodes. The only thing that ties them together is that some raid characters/costumes are unlocked by doing things in the campaign.

By the way, the RER2 campaign is actually shorter. Each episode lasts about 10-12 minutes on average after the first play through.

Nothing to unlock in raid. The only thing that seems to need a campaign completion is some costumes.

It might just be because I'm so used to running through Rev 1, but it felt like 2 took way longer. Relieving to know it's separate, though, and that I can blow through the main scenario if I really need to.

Sorry I mean "unlock all part of raid mode including charactors without finishing campaign...". Also if you don't have episode 2, I doubt you can unlock VI, V and VI missions. Can you?

No, raid mode tells you that further gauntlets require main story episodes.

Not just costumes. You need to beat the campaign to unlock Moira, Gina, Pedro, Neil, Gabe, and Alex; and you need to beat the first mini-episode to unlock Evgeny. The only characters you can play as without touching the campaign are Claire, Barry, Jill, Chris, Leon, Cipher, and HUNK+Wesker if you buy them.

I have the full game with all the episodes and some DLC, thanks to a sale 2 years ago, but none of them completed. I'm just now really going for Raid Mode here.
I also have Moira without beating the campaign here, but that may be because I have that costume DLC? The only other characters I'd really care about are Pedro ('cause he's funny) and Gina ('Cause she apparently has a Lady HUNK outfit? I'm guessing that it doesn't have Rev 1's voices for it?) so I might try to unlock those if it's not too annoying.

Lady Hunk has a slightly distorted Gina voiceset. Not that it matters since she had Rachel's voiceset in RER1 anyway, not a unique one.
Depending on how much you want to get into raid, you'll need all characters. One of the two daily challenges randomly picks a mandatory character, and those challenges have the best money/time ratios. Getting the final medal of unlocking every skill on one character needs you to level each of them to at least to the point where you can inherit their character-specific skill.

But if you can live with only one daily a day and focusing only some skills on a few characters, then you can skip the entire campaign, yes.

By the way, make sure to have Wesker and HUNK, both have ridiculously broken special skills. And stay away from the DLC gauntlet maps, they are terrible.

two things.
1) Where are the dlc gaunlet maps?

2)Ive never had a character specific daily that wasn't a character I'd already had unlocked. Actually, I've only ever had it be Gina, Wesker, and Pedro.

1) It is the Throwback Map Pack. Where "throwback" means "another bunch of RE6 maps and a Revelations 1 map".
2) They seem to be random. The daily missions revealed me that Alex is a character in Raid long before I had a chance to unlock her.
