I continue to die while travelling with Bourbon

I can't stay alive in the "Lost Tunnels" chapter area where there a numerous human bodies and Bourbon is slowing turning a wheel to raise a gate. I get a couple of cut scences and Bourbon says he is welcoming the mistress, I changed the filter on my gas mask when I entered this room and I am looting the bodies. Bourbon is slowly raising the low gate and talking to me but I die everytime.
What do I need to do to stay alive here?

In the part where it seems as a hallucination, you must go towrds Burbon, otherwise the "Dark One" will kill you both (or at least that's my interpretation of the events), if you keep going towards him, you will leave the room safely.

As a rule, run TO blue and run FROM red....

When some kind of flashback-like thing happens, you need to run to Bourbon

Thanks to all for the help. Running to the light was just what was required. Bourban's comment to "watch my back" made me think I needed to stay behind him. Thanks again everyone.

I died like 4~5 times before i figured during the video play sections i could run at bourbon.it was a struggle,i jump & run towards his direction.yeah dat room was so very tricky :'D
