If you want a list of the items you have to farm enemies for...

Slime drops - Small numbers in training towers and sewer entrance, middling amounts in temple of life, but the best place is the aberrant slimes that drop x50 each in chaotic path.

Wildgrass - if you still need this past early game, the air training tower has the best drop rate (goats can drop x3), although it appears on some sewer enemies, too. All the training tower bosses drop 2 wildgrass, so whichever one is fastest.

Poison powder - Appear in the sewers, with hazardous sector's sewer fly being the best all-around bet. The sludge boss of hazardous sector always drops 2.

Orange mushrooms - Only appear on grinshrooms in cavern mouth and the life guardian boss in subterranean sanctuary (part of why I like to bully the life guardian on repeat while doing channeling while messing with essence expanders or other things where I'm dropping my combat power)

Mystic blossoms - Appear in all the deep cavern areas, but temple of life has them the most frequently for random monster drops, and the best place to farm it is from the life guardian boss (another reason to leave the game bullying her on repeat. If you're curious, I have 46k defeats of her on record...) Note that if you just want magic cloth, you can auto-bully the alligator magus boss in the cavern mouth, instead.

Yellow branches - Only found on the giant bees on the road uphill.

Magic salt - Only found in the road uphill and castle on the bridge, but it's much more common in the castle. You can bully the white dragon from the road uphill repeatedly for 6 salts each run, and maybe revive potions. Ethereal djinn can also be farmed for 24 salts at a time.

Fairyleaf - All the chaotic dimension areas besides draconic shrine work, but you get the most from Zeth fortress. Oddly, no bosses drop this.

I mention both normal enemies and bosses because you can turbo-kill the bosses to rapidly farm materials if you want, but familiars that aren't following you can't kill bosses. Familiars can win battles in areas "below their level" much faster than if you just tell them to auto-explore. Hence, I suggest leaving your familiars in places like cavern mouth, temple of life, path uphill, castle on the bridge, and zeth fortress to farm materials over other places. (You'll only have at most two useful familiars, anyway, so most familiars are only good for farming mats like this.)

Also, note that space-mind on the synchro grid adds +1 to the drops from enemies. Since you tend to get 1 or 2, having 2 touching space-mind synchro spots can double or triple your acquisition rate (useful for grinding those late-game fairyleaves.) Also, earth-space gives extra effective "levels" for transmutation (which increases the chance for crafting higher-quality stuff), which in turn also reduces the amount of grinding...
