I even offered to send in saves because the bug is persistent once it hits.
It's very lame to have an entire base suddenly evaporate.
I was only using skin mods at this time. I've since removed them.
Additionally, when I ran more serious mods like Greentech and its dependencies, then loaded a mod save without the mods, the behavior was different.
Like, if the campaign save gets corrupted, I'm hoping that it won't affect the creative save, and all my stuff will still be fine in creative, so then if the game has a valid point from which it can load all my stuff maybe it'll even keep it safe in campaign. Of course it could also go the other way, that if the techs get corrupted in my campaign save, the corruption could also spread to my creative backup save and ruin that too, but no way to know which way it'll go until I get a chance to test it. Which is kinda hard since there's no easy and clear way to reproduce it, except for the rather vague "explore very far away from your base".
To deal with the loss of blocks, I edited the save file to give myself 99,000,000 BB and just spam-purchased all sorts of blocks I had used in the techs that were lost. I was able to load replacement copies after that. But things like harvesters with fabricators need to be set up to produce the desired resource blocks again.
I would say about 10 hrs in I decided to try base building and created a small mining base to collect a passive income, (unfortunately when far enough away the base stops working) and after couple hrs of questing I return and the base was gone.
After that I completed the game without permanent bases only loading them in when needed and collecting them when it was time to move.
I really wanted to create a large everything in one base like a saw on some youtube channels but I didn't want to waste my time and resources.
Sorry for your lost base.
We have made techs reappear by reducing the size and correcting any logic errors and anchoring errors, but it doesn't always work, and of course, that only works when you have another player present that can see the tech to fix it or scrap it, as the invisible error in multiplayer predominantly hides the tech from the non-host player(s).
5 now. im at the point im making a save every 20 -30 minutes and checking the manage techs menu every 5 -10 to see if any have gone blank so i can reload when they do. since for some reason when this happens sending the tech to your inventory doesn't return anything
