This is just a clone of robocraft.
have i played terratech? no. have i tried robocraft? yes. and i dont like neither of them.
both of them has you needing to collect parts to build. both of them has you fight other peoples creations and limited building until you start battling or whatever else terratech has you do to gain parts. so baiscally robocraft but you have to pay

Robocraft is way worse if you talk about 2020.
But I missed 2014 tho...
Anyway This one has no connections between them. So lets say how about mobile games? All of them is stolen... Space Engineers... Clone of robocraft too? Becouse It has blocks? So Minecraft. Minecraft is a god of these games.

Robocraft is PvP game. Mostly focused on fighting. But this one(Multiplayer is actually can be clone of robocraft. You're losing crafting etc in Multiplayer and this is ripoff.)
This one mostly focused on crafting/Collecting etc. Multiplayer is sucks but kinda fun to play singleplayer.
Robocraft has own guns like.. Shotgun etc.. But This game has no connection between them. If you talk about just block and build idea... Just get out. Sorry. Becouse you didnt make search about it... They(Developers) didnt said "We're inspired from robocraft" etc.

I'm gonna say 1 thing. This game is Robocraft but Its WAAAY too better. (If you talk about 2014 version.. lets be honest 2014 one better than this xD)
At least developers Does something more "BETTER" than robocraft devs. Like Helping the Covid etc.

Thanks for reading. :selike:

Gotta love people that Just can't enjoy a game so they try to Sour it for everybody else.

How do you say that a game is bad without ever trying it
ShelLuser Apr 28, 2020 @ 3:56am
If you haven't played the game then you can't make up your full mind about it. It's as simple as that.

And I say this because I've been there... after I first bought TerraTech I tried it for approx. 30 - 40 minutes and it really didn't click with me so I requested a refund. Even felt kind of bad about it too because I didn't think the game was 'bad' or anything.

The next day I checked Youtube some more, tried once again for myself and next thing I know I have cancelled my refund request and approx. 6 hours worth of gameplay behind my name. First impressions of this game can be very misleading.

I don't even see sense in making thread like Dominans made. It's just like trolling. No real arguments just like crying out river of frustration?

Jumping in here real quick as a originating Terra Tech player who tried out multiple vehicle building games and even Machinecraft once:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TerraTech vs Robocraft vs Machinecraft vs Space Engineers vs From The Depths.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This may seem like a cluster-mess, but these, whether you like it or not, are construction games I have played in the past.
There are a number of other games that I am not going to compare, mostly due to the fact I haven’t tried them yet.
Minecraft is left out because it’s centered around the world, not vehicles.

GAMEPLAY:

Terra Tech[vehicle is your Avatar]:
I have played this game for far over 4000 hours (including my secret account) and know it’s flaws in and out.
- Explosions are overpowered and buggy
- Multiplayer lobbies are buggy and sometimes conflictive
- Max build limit is 64x64x64
- Online Deathmatch is empty (Terrible to play it like Robocraft)
- Enemy AI is dismal at best

+ Easy to pick up and master
+ Community is helpful
+ Unofficial modding support
+ Single player is pretty good
I can already safely say that Terra Tech is aimed at a younger population than Robocraft.
The combat in Terra Tech relies the most on vehicle design, because true manual aim can only be slightly done with WASD.

The community seriously hates people fighting each other personally, and causing a flame war is easy grounds to trouble. Always maintain a level head and remain reasonable in the community.
OBEY the age rating of the game.

The developers have no mercy when it comes to bans. Don’t get on their bad side.

Terra Tech “mobile knockoff” better known as “Block Tech”:
This is a mobile game that tries to copy Terra Tech.
- Spawn of EVIL
- Knockoff
- MP is really buggy
- Pay or watch tons of ads
- just… no.

+ it’s “free”?
+ it’s mobile?
+ literally nothing
+ literally nothing
It costs money to play reasonably, the gameplay is horrendous, and it’s absolutely biased in online combat.
THIS is a potential case that our Topic Poster is confused with.

yes the Terra Tech devs are working on getting “Block Tech” removed.

RoboCraft[vehicle is your Avatar]:
Reliance on manual aiming
- This game demands internet to work
- Devs aren’t the best
- Must pay to make enjoyable
- Limited build
- The Dreaded Lootcrate

+ Built for online combat and deathmatch mode
+ Heavily aiming skill-based
+ has a decent past
+ Great for players who want to transition from first/third-person shooters to vehicle building games
Robocraft is based more on aiming skill and is more directed towards teens.
The combat is cursor aim.

I cannot say too much about this one as I am not a fan of First/third-Person shooters.

Your wallet will be crying if you take Robocraft too seriously.

Machinecraft[You literally make your own Avatar]:
Varies, can compare to all of these in some way but not in the Survival category.
- This game demands internet to work
- Small community that can be unforgiving to new players
- Building system is unintuitive
- Original dev is no longer available
- No easy way to enter properly without making a vehicle yourself first

+ Free
+ Customization by Community

+ Some potential for friends
+ Community creations look incredible
I cannot stress this enough, you MUST meet the community first before getting into this game.
Some of the aspects of RoboCraft apply here, although it depends on how you make your vehicle.
It also depends on what game you are joining.
While I have never joined one of those games to date, I can only assume that its a very social environment.
Better than VRchat that is. Because *Vehicles*.

The options to customize are near limitless but to the point where it’s confusing.
Players who are really willing will get through this, usually this is when they make something better than the starting Basic1 vehicle.

Avoid using Steam Workshop vehicles unless you are planning on doing extensive changes on them.

Space Engineers[human-like Avatar]:
Awesome with friends
- Gameplay is better with more friends
- “Klang” (bugs) ends all that is super-complicated
- Vehicles crumple up like toilet paper and die easily if built wrong
- Demands high-end computer
- Griefers can hit really hard

+ Catches survival in space
+ Has planets and asteroids
+ Many vehicle options
+ Dedicated servers
Space Engineers is the most survival-based gameplay of all of them.
It also feels the the most unique experience out of all of them in the list for how heavily it weighs this survival aspect. Ironically enough, I find it easier to survive in space than on a planet.

The part that is the most devastating about this game is just how easy it is to have your ships and vehicles be destroyed offscreen. It could be from raiders, pirate attacks, messing around, or maybe just even a loose rotor that goes crazy.

Never place all your ships at one base… It’s just that easy to lose everything…

From The Depths[android-Avatar]:
From the Depths is focused around naval combat, but also has land combat as well.
- Will eat a bunch of time to make a fleet to counter the enemy
- Multiplayer is buggy
- Combat takes awhile
- Complex
- Ground vehicles can bug out

+ Customization of massive scales
+ Sheer scale and might of warfare unmatched
+ Superior AI
+ Mods
Best for fleet combat and warfare, and recreation of large-scale wars.
The scale of warfare is just unable to be beat by any of the other games above.
Nations and fleets of ships brawling it out for territory captures the epic scale of wars.
There are powerful tools to make building much easier.

To this day, I am unable to beat the Thyr. Even with a ship that surpasses the Thyr’s cost, it’s still a very grievous fight. The community is too good at making the best of the best ships.
Never underestimate the difficulty sliders, even if the EXP bonus is making it tempting.

NEVER leave your eyes off the enemy. Even if they are neutral they can suddenly become a threat and attack your flank.

DEVELOPERS:

Terra Tech:
I am 100% not afraid to say that the developers are not exactly the best suited when it comes to their long-time players, but they are friendly to new players, and will comply with bug reports.
In fact, the ones who were banned were long-playing players who became too ambitious.
You can get close, but don’t let your ambition consume you.

RoboCraft:
I have no right to speak about this one…

Machinecraft:
The original developer is not existing anymore from what I have heard.
The game’s real developers is the community itself.
Getting in touch with the community is ABSOLUTELY essential to making this game enjoyable.

Space Engineers:
The developers are still quite active.
They seem to cater more towards new ideas rather than bug-fixing.
The things they have done so recently *are* bug patches as they are now catching up with the bugs they had made for themselves in the past.

From The Depths:
The devs fully support the experienced players who know what they are doing.
For new players, this is where things are tough.
It’s mostly around building up the reputation to leave an impact that matters.

COMMUNITY:

Terra Tech:
Terra Tech’s community is composed of players who love the game.
It’s not as intense as From The Depths’ community.
Currently there are unofficial mods that change the game’s limits within the community.
Terra Tech’s community can be biased towards Terra Tech sometimes. Best not to offend them…
Joining random online servers is not advised. Join the TerraTech Discord instead to find multiplayer matches.
Some people grow out of Terra Tech and move onto the other games below.

RoboCraft:
Combat is random server matchings.
Robocraft’s community can be quite competitive at times.
If you are looking for a challenge, then this community is good at that.
If you are looking to avoid conflict, then this may not be the best for you.

Machinecraft:
Machinecraft has a niche community.
Majority of the active members are skilled experts at the game. If you want to make it into this circle, it will take some serious time and dedication to pull off.
The thread poster of this thread is actually one of those Machinecraft Legends.
Just a brief look shows just how skilled they are.
Don’t take this in that Machinecraft itself is bad, it’s just this individual I have seen in the past is known for jumping to conclusions much like I do.

Space Engineers:
Has multiple online servers that are quite active.
Its best to build up or join a group of people for this one, as surviving alone can be tough.
Being a part of a group of people to build up an army, if it’s trade, combat, or straight up mercenaries, is the most enjoyable part of this game for me thus far.

From The Depths:
The community is centered around the long-time players, as the game itself is quite complex and hard to learn, which often scares away new players.
Again, dedication. But this time it’s creation of MULTIPLE vehicles.
Community creations include entire factions and planets. In fact, the in-game factions themselves were made by the community!

On the topic of Terra Tech being related to the others here:

*TerraTech is Like RoboCraft*:
Multiplayer Campaign is Co-op, nothing like Robocraft’s original intension.
I mean the team battles in robocraft are very roughly like that but not much.

Yes,TerraTech’s Multiplayer Deathmatch mode is similar to Robocraft in a sort of way.
Which is actually really sad compared to Robocraft because a limited block pool limits what people can do in that mode.
There are both Free-For-All and Team modes in Deathmatch.

Unlike Robocraft, you can “loot” parts from the enemies and build on the battlefield.
This leads to an unpleasant snowball effect, eventually leading to a massive tech that threatens all other techs on the battlefield. Eventually rage quits follow.

Creative MP is complete chaos. Nothing like Robocraft.
Just the most overpowered vehicles being spammed everywhere to see who’s game crashes first and the occasional vehicle theft.

*TerraTech is Like Machinecraft*:
Meanwhile, the unofficial modding community of Terra Tech is slowly creeping into the capabilities of swivels and pistons, making it more like Machinecraft...

Manual aiming is possible already, aim prediction has existed, and now there are even fan-made corporations!
Some of which include the Lemon Kingdom and GreenTech.
Which is soon to include the Technocratic AI Colony if I get the guts to finish what I started…

I have already made several walkers with Whitepaw's mods.

Official modding support is on the way to TerraTech.

*TerraTech is Like Space Engineers*:
Well if you count the fact that the guns and collisions in both games have the potential to one-shot a vehicle, they are not really close at all…

*TerraTech is Like FTD*:
This is when we get into kingdoms…

And even then this is VERY shaky territory.

One does NOT simply start a war between two kingdoms.

IN SUMMARY:

TerraTech: Singleplayer vehicle sandbox turned somewhat Multiplayer by community demand.
The community is responsible for controlling the game’s development

Robocraft: Dedicated PVP vehicle sandbox built around the PVP aspect.
The developers follow their own vision ENTIRELY

Machinecraft: Jack of all trades, master of none. Has the most VRchat-like elements of all of them.
The community is solely responsible for controlling the game’s development

Space Engineers: Survival is fun in space parties!
Not entirely sure on this one, devs are in command though

From The Depths: Relive WWII but it’s fictional and your ships are using sci-fi weapons of death.
The community is responsible for controlling the game’s development

Any questions?

I think this person sums it up very well. I also played Robocarft and agree with how they showed it. Same for this game. I just had to point at this persons post for how epic it is.

This game lets you have more then one tech on the field at once. Plus more then once I have added a turret to the ground when doing missions that have me fight large groups.

Judging a game you haven't played and just assuming it's a clone...

This is nothing like robocraft aside from the block building, even then the building process is vastly different too.

This is as dumb as the people who say Machinecraft is a Robocraft clone.

I like the fact that I have, or are going to get some of the games here that aren't Terratech.
