Did they fix the Windows 11 crash error?
I think it was the latest update that was causing the crash

They released a hotfix today that mostly works. People are saying that gaming sessions go 30+ minutes without a crash, versus the 5 minute crashes before the hotfix. Not great but better than nothing.

I played for an hour, and it was fine. Avatar is crashing for me withing a couple minutes consistently.

I played through the entire prologue with no crash.

What version of windows do you have? I think it's the update with the 24 in it.

Yes, ever since Win11 released the 24H2 update Outlaws has been crashing to desktop every 5-30 minutes. Today's new hotfix seems to be working, though.

My system is on 23H2, I think because they roll out the 24 update slowly. So I should be ok?

I would suggest turning off automatic updates in your Windows settings and sticking with 23H2 for now. 24H2 has been reported to have many other problems besides breaking Outlaws.

It is off. Maybe that's why I didn't get it yet, since there are so many issues with it they usually will slow roll it.

This is a rare edge case, as this is not what most gamers use. Most gamers use on-board sound chips. Some others dedicated PCI-(E) soundcards.

That's the safest thing to do for now. 23H2 seems to work normally with Outlaws.
