Only six Daggers?
Is this really the case, or does the wiki need updating? Seems like there is little reason to get level 5 in daggers if all that is available is the Opal Tusk. There are eleven swords to choose from. Starting to feel like I should have just gone swords and grabbed a Tachi asap.

Is there any other benifit to having the higher level access to weapons besides being able to use the high level weapons? Damage Bonus, faster attack speed, anything?

Yup, only 6 daggers. No problem though, not sure why you would use different ones. People tend to like Eviscerator or Peesklaw for applying poison.

There's no bonuses like attack speed, you just manage to use the ones of your level and get the stat bonuses. Tachi is loved by many.

Skill description ingame says 'gives 5 points of dexterity' (for daggers 5). So yes its just as useful as normal dexterity nodes.

Correction, daggers skill gives willpower, not dexterity.

The dagger skill gives 5 dex, but so does putting 5 points into a regular dex node, and you don't have to spend any points getting to it. Unless the weapon requires [weapon skill 5], there is not much reason to take that skill. I have Swords 2 and am using the Tachi and a pistol and wrecking up the joint. Tier2 sword perfectly viable at endgame.

I am using the Tachi currently.... it is OP. Seriously, I think the dev just had a hard on for katanas.

Also, dagger nodes... as noted above, give willpower, not dexterity.

they did - just play Dishwasher (their other game and sequel to it).
Not that OP on NG+, due to low amount of damage (yes, you can still rape everyone, but it gets TONNS of time), actually
