Remove speeds 1 through 3; create faster speed options
Seriously, 4 is even too slow.

I honestly agree with this, or at least the first half. One of my grandfather's friends set it to 3 back when Teddy Roosevelt was in office and they just finished two days ago.

Forcing people who want to play on slower speeds because they're either new or they physically cannot handle speed 4 to play on higher speeds just because the game isn't "fast enough" for you is incredibly selfish, along with an awful idea.

If somebody wants to make a speed 3 game then let them. Gives them more time to chat between dice rolls. I agree than 1 and 2 are a little sluggish, though.

If anything, 3 should be the "default" game speed on installation, 2 should be "slow" and 1 "very slow."

3 is good and you can see everything when just starting out, while 4 is too fast if you don't know what's going on. 2 is excessively slow, but worth keeping as an option, either in single player for your very first game to study everything the AI does (and still have speed toggles), or for super chill multiplayer lobbies I suppose.

If faster speeds are made, I think the idle animation at junctions should be less ridiculous spasmic bouncing.

I don't even know why the character bouncing speed is tied to the game's speed. It should just bounce at the same rate no matter the speed just so the game looks fine even if you play it at the highest speed.

Because it looks fucking funny.
2 is good for starting out and learning the mechanics, in my opinion, so you can pay attention to absolutely everything that happens in a game.

For most lobbies, 3 or 4 is best. 3 for a more chill lobby, 4 for a quick fix. It's easy to miss important stuff if you're multitasking and playing on speed 4.

I have the speed currently at its lowest because when I started up the game for the first time, I had trouble processing what was going on (in normal speed). This suggestion merely benefits a select number of people, and with the current options available, it doesn't actually leave them at any kind of disadvantage. Some people like playing at a relaxed speed, everyone is different so don't suggest something so ridiculous when it fails to benefit everyone. If you don't want to play at a slower speed the solution is simple... DON'T play at a slower speed!

All I'm seeing is whining in this thread over faster speeds. Stop whining and present a real argument rather than "because I don't like it" or "some people".
Well I don't see the reason to remove the slower speeds.

Add a speed 5, maybe.

But some people like 1 and 2.

Extra options don't hurt.

Maybe adding a default speed thingy might help. Though I think there's already one...let me check...

Yeah, startup box gives a Game Speed option, which defaults to Normal. Let me try turning it to Super Fast, then going to Free Play to create a lobby.

Yep, game speed defaults to 4 for making a lobby when I set it to Super Fast in the startup options.
Furthermore, I just quit and restarted 100% OJ.

The Game Speed choice of Super Fast was retained -- it was selected by default this time in the opening dialog box.

So the game appears to remember your choice of speed. I think this mean you can just set it once and forget it thereafter.

I really don't understand why 1 was even added other than "because we can".

Faster speeds for online is something I'd enjoy. For a while I did a lot of single player at 4 with ctrl held down so going online feels a bit slow.

4 is fine sure having a 5 would be kinda cool but not necessary 4 is good enough.
And in single player you can always just use ctrl / shift
I guess if they wanted to make a 5 they could give it the effect of ctrl +shift or just one alone (and 6 would be both buttons i guess)

but otherwise pointless

also agree with Kyle not sure why we even have a "1" option. I started playing on 2 and was good enough for me to learn the mechanics

If you're all about them twitch-reflex ultra-speed games, why are you even playing Orange Juice in the first place? As far as I can tell, it's been made exactly for slower-paced gaming sessions, so people can relax. I like my speed 2. :c

no animation speed with be nice. (for speed 5)
and i can't stand any 1-2 speed way to slow for me (speed 3 not bad, good for chating)
how about speed 0 to piss player

didn't know about that effect of ctrl +shift.(need test it)
