(no number) You sound like you never played games before to be honest. Systems like this have been around for decades now in video games and before that in various card games. If you hand a player an item collection completion list in the options menu with a % guide, they will try to collect all of them. To people, its a game.
Besides, it's actually a fun game to play imho.
Honestly, perhaps it might be better if the max limit of cards we can buy and hold would be 3? Would cut down on star costs and make RNG more friendly.
Cards are a very special case anyway, they determine how effecient one can be in just about any gamemode, as you cannot deck cards you do not own. The last thing we need is a severe deck-building disadvantadge.
Now Buying DLC card packs with actual money......that actually sucks
