Mouse smoothing
It feels like this is on with no option to turn it off. Any console command to turn it off?

I'm not sure. It just feels like it to me.

in_mouse 2

-1 - Windows cursor input, subject to cursor ballistics
0 - No mouse input
1 - Dinput (direct input)
2 - WM_INPUT (raw)

Thanks, man. -1 was what I was looking for.

-1 is the worst you can use really as it's subject to windows mouse acceleration, you can get more precise mouse with 1 or 2 and then vary it with a bunch of other mouse variables...but if it works for you then nevermind me :)

It defaults to 2. I realize it's what most would use but I actually prefer the twitchiness of -1.

Does quake support RINPUT.exe?
Xyos Sep 17, 2014 @ 6:17pm
Even with this command something still feels off, doesnt feel as responsive as CSGO for instance
Flodge Sep 17, 2014 @ 6:38pm
Maybe you have vsync on, all that cmd does is map the mouse movement correctly in game.

Source engine is based from idtech, should be just as responsive as cs

WHY DOES QUAKE HAVE SMOOTHING ON BY DEFAULT WITH NO IN GAME OPTION FOR IT?!
Flodge Sep 17, 2014 @ 6:58pm
There is no smoothing*, you most likely have input lag of some variety

*unless for some incredibly freaky reason you have cg_filter_angles set to anything other than the default value of 0 which is nigh impossible unless you let a very keyboard literate cat walk over your PC.
