Why is the RESOLUTION so BIG??
I had had intalled QuakeLive but for one reason I had to restart my computer... And now, when I try to play the resolution is so big that only appears the a 1/2 of the screen.
I have tried to change the qzconfig (idk the name exactly xD) but it didn't work!!
Please, if anyone knows how to fix it... Help :(((

PD: Sorry for the bad english.

I have always set my resolution from the in-game menu. Press ESCape, and click on the Game Settings menu option. Some settings can be wrecked when the game isn't able to shut down properly. I can say that I remember often having resolution and sound issues back when the game was browser-based, but thses have largely disappeared. Too bad no one plays the game anymore!

Did you attempt to change the r mode in qzconfig.cfg? Here is a link that describes it well enough:

Good luck!

On Windows 10, the path to the Quake Live config files on Steam is:
"c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake Live\[your user number]\baseq3\"

For screens with 2560 x 1440 resolution

If you happen to play in a "2k" screen, like me, I use an Acer XZ321QU (32") screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, note that Quake Live does not have this resolution in its menu. This means you have to manually set it up in the qzconfig.cfg file.

This is how the settings in the qzconfig.cfg file should look like:

seta r_mode "-1" seta r_customwidth "2560" seta r_customheight "1440"

Obviously, the values 2560 and 1440 can be anything else your monitor supports.

Note: You may get a small dialog box from Steam asking you if you'd like to use the config file from the cloud (old file) or the one you just edit locally. Upload the local one.

Hope this helps.

read through this thread.. its a windows 10 issue with high dpi scaling. very easily fixed.. it will depend on your win 10 build, but see my last post in it for the most current fix... no need to start messing with your config. thats not whats broken
