How to watch Quake Live demos?

I just wanted to watch some demos. But when I want to open the files, the following error occurs in the "Demo Tools" program: "unable to initialize process Other".

With "WolfWhisperer" it doesn't work either. There the demo loads but after maybe 10 sec. the window disappears.

I downloaded the demos from the QLRanks side (http://www.qlranks.com/).

Has anyone an idea of what I'm doing wrong?

Those demos are probably for an older version of the game, and are not supported.

Download wolfcamql here[github.com] and try to load it.
If it doesn't work then the demo is probably the problem.

When I open the wolfcamql.exe I get the message that the installation is incomplete and I have to copy the pk3 files from the QL baseq3 directory into the wolfcam baseq3 directory. But when I copy the files nothing happens.

The old way still works..Open console and /demo "demoname"

you can now play your demo and there will be a control bar so you can pause, speed it up, etc..

Thanks drunklswampy! I can watch my own demos (dm_91) when I open it via console. When I start a dm_73 demo file it doesn't work. Is there a webside where I can get demo files which will definetly work?

Okay, I just found some 2015 Quakecon demos and they work (dm_91):

This. It's so ridiculously convenient compared to anything else, and the built-in demo viewer is so much better than it was.

When I type play demo0001 in consol I have a very long error message with at the end warning couldn't open blah blah blah... Help please

Try this pack with .pk3 files.
