Game slow and laggy?

Does anyone feel that the game is kinda slow and laggy? I have the same ping, same cfg, play almost every day and suddenly my LG dropped from 40% to 30%. I'm hitting the same offline so it must be some sort of lag in the game. Ping 40 feels like ping 80 at least. Tracking is just horrible. I don't know if it's the game so some settings I need to change in my cfg because of Steam. Never had Steam account, always used the launcher before.

on some servers it's graet feeling on others not, when i first played 2 days ago here on steam i was amazed how fast and smotth it felt, now it's back to boring old feel i often had on ql stand alone - game feel 'slow and laggy' kinda hard to specify

Something I did notice last night was the occasional lag similar to what you used to get on q3 when players joined. I hadn't noticed that so much on QL standalone - was kind of nostalgic.

The game is worse than before.
Seems laggy and always packet losses are occuring in close 1-1 combat.
And constant sound glitches.

Most servers may have the same ping, but are probably running on a windows computer whilst playing.

It will take a while before more linux dedicated servers show up, installed in server farms with optimal connections. (vs household connections)

Yes good point. I asked Gameservers whether they had planned to host QL and got a "no plans at the moment" response - but hopefully people will start selling hosting soon - I'll set one up for sure.

I just felt weird that's all; the feeling you get if you play QL when you're drunk. Steam feels very drunk although I'm dead sober. There are moments when things feel normal, my tracking is OK, I feel my usual accuracy working but for the most part I don't feel the game as I used to. I'm still using my usual 800x600 resolution. Don't know if that's a problem with Steam. Still have 125fps though.
