Okay! That did help and I was able to install and play the game. However, when I uninstall the game, it does not stay in my library.
My problem, which had me clear the contents, was due to a VAC timeout error that kept me from joining any servers. My VAC standings are good. Anyone else have that problem?
It happens when VAC services aren't able to communicate properly for some reason.
- You could try changing Steam Settings - Downloads - Download Region.
- Reinstall Steam itself (don't delete your games or anything, just reinstall over the top), and cross your fingers, this should fix any steam services if they've been removed/disabled or damaged. That's worked for a lot of people but far from all.
The other known causes are various anti virus and security apps can cause this, either always or after a faulty update.
Or it could just be some random OS problem which sadly means you might never be able to track it down specifically but be stuck with having to try a clean OS reinstall :(
Beyond that you'd have to wade through the results of a web search for "VAC timeout error" and hope one of many suggested solutions could help, it's not entirely uncommon :/
It just appear if I install it from the store.
