CTF Dead?

I played the hell out of Q3 back in the day and Team Arena when it hit. My favorite game mode and maps were always CTF. After being excited to see QL on Steam, I ended up disappointed to have only 2 CTF servers show up in my filter... One with zero players and one with a single player.

Is CTF just dead now? I vaguely remember trying QL when it first started as a browser based thing and not getting into it for the same reason. Everything was FFA or Team.

I'm US EST for what it's worth. Would I have better luck if I installed Q3? Is there still an active community there?

I'm down for some Vanillia CTF. I don't care for Freeze or Insta. Hit me up we can try to get a game going.

Apart from vanilla it is pretty dead the odd Insta or rockets only pops up but pql CTF the best is dead

6 months ago there was plenty CTF servers that were busy :(

I think it is more popular than ever at the moment thanks to the two OMG clan CTF servers I am aware of. Quite often when I join there are already spectators waiting for a game. I find the server by typing 'ctf' in the search. The servers are hosted in Frankfurt - so you're probably looking at around 100+ ping. This skill level is quite high so if you are new, you will be faced with a steep learning curve. good luck. CTF in Europe has always been alot more active.

Ah. That's why I'm not seeing them... had my max ping set at 75. Might give it a shot, but 100+ doesn't sound great!

wtf i just dl'ed the game again, after like a few months and this game is sooo dead there's like 8 people playing it right now. ;D

You have to play ctf in order for the ctf games to have players. Lol the problem is most people don't wanna wait or idle for games anymore. They see no one in server and give up on it just like that. The general mindset of gamers is that if the servers are dead - it's hopeless back to CS:GO.

Like when a store goes out of business and someone who only visits twice a year is all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ''omg why are they closed, how can this be???'' Well, you weren't exactly supporting the cause only coming by once or twice a year.

Well, you can't expect ctf to have players if there is no community trying to nourish it.

Idle in a game now and again and invite some friends. Start a ctf group and invite more like minded folks. CTF can be somewhat populated again and I would gladly help get a server going, invite me.

Although omega have 2 servers They still let the So called leet players kick the noobs.

The noobs are potentially the new community but all throughj game you here whine about them,i wonder how it makes them feel !

To flame noobs is allowed on that server but u call a ♥♥♥♥ a ♥♥♥♥ AKE a bad admin!!! then you get kicked its a weird way to run a server.

The game still has a 1000 or so people playing but with the kcck the noob 24/7 on ctf They move to Clan Arena.

They killed Q3 with the leetist shoit now its QL`s turn...

CTF is favorite mode as well. I am going to try running a classic CTF server up and see how it goes.

Pretty much why I don't play on omega I get called a noob when pql CTF is my main gametype find it hard getting used to the slow pace on omega so need a couple of games to warm up and you just get flamed constantly that's if you can even get a game with so many sitting in spectator who could go and play somewhere else
