Arena Shooters - Wrong Reasons?
I love games like these, but I'm starting to think maybe for wrong reasons. I love the single player portion of these kind of games, aka boomer shooters, like doom, duke, UT, Ion Fury, etc. But the multiplayer for these games I never have fun I'm always mad/frustrated and the biggest reason I like them is it feels kind of like a flex, everyone my age that is average gamer plays stuff like CoD, Apex, Forntite, etc. So playing these kind of games make me feel better like I am above them in some way, but then I actually play and have played these kind of games online and offline for years and almost everyone is better than me, I understand most if not all people who play these kind of games have decades of experience. I know it's just a game, but playing for hundreds of hours on multiple different games and being the bottom player on all of those games constantly is not fun for anybody I know bots exist, but you can't become friends with bots, idk what to do. It's not fun always being the worst player in every match & I'm sure people of tired of me complaining every game, but it's also not fun playing modern shooters with modern people who have egos that they don't deserve cuz of how easy they are to play. idk what to do.

i played quake 3, live, and champions from like 2003-current. Apex is probably the only game besides quake that i actually found to be good. and to say those games are easy to play is pretty dumb. i dont see any 3 stack quake pros taking tournaments. and the prize money is way way more than quake.

i see cooler grinding ranked in apex on a regular basis, and struggling alot and he was a pretty damn good quake player

Esports is about popularity not skill, hence why bigger tournaments for bigger games can afford to give out more money, but I see your point. I might just have to give that game a shot honestly, I never played Apex, the idea of battle royale sounds very frustrating and unfair, but there is regular modes one can play as well I hear. :)

Propably not, but I just have to accept I don't find these games enjoyable or fun online, without a playerbase substantial enough for new players to learn with other new players I will never find games like this enjoyable. I think it's time I put away my K/B & M at least for online, until either I can learn to have fun sucking or until games like this have bigger player bases to support new players which probs won't happen. :)
