cant connect to most servers
hey so when i join most servers i wait at the loading screen (the one with the map on it), everything loads, and then i get kicked to the browser menu with the "server disconnected for unknown reason" error. How do I fix this?

qlstats.net some servers require to be logged in at least once there

i tried validating, reinstalling, deleting some folder, deleting the config files, nothing has worked

i tried playing with it on and off, nothing has changed

I would try turning off steam cloud and then delete the cfg’s in baseq3. Restart ql and see if that helps. If steam cloud was on when you deleted them earlier then they would have been replaced by cloud with possibly bad cfg’s.

Also you say “most” servers. Are you able to play on some servers but not others? Consistently the same servers or random servers?

Ill try that.
By most servers i mean that im able to consistently play on the same 2 servers, but when i try to join any others then it will load and ill get kicked with the error, sometimes ill see the join screen for like 1-2 frames before getting kicked but thats about it

also, by baseq3 do you mean the one in the Quake Live directory or the one in the folder with a bunch of numbers?

The bunch of numbers should be your steamID. That’s the one you want.

A condump of console may shed some light on your problem.

Connect to a server you crash on and after crash...
Open console (the ~ key under Esc) type condump test.
Go to your steamID folder and in the baseq3 folder should be the test file you generated.
Open file in notepad and copy&paste here.

The game doesnt crash, i just get kicked to the server list. Also, thank you for the help thus far, i really appreciate it. btw i had to restart the game a few times because sometimes its stuck at like 1 fps and i have to restart the game, so if the condump looks weird thats probably why. Anyway, heres the condump (i had to split it into several comments because of the character limit)
