Noob at Quake, tips please
Good day all as you may see from the title and my play time I am very new to Quake, I was recomended by a friend to try it out and it sparked my interest.
Besides the obvious tip of just play the game does anyone know any good tips such as keybindings or anything such as that?

Thankyou for reading and have a great day :D

My first tip is for you to work on your anger management. If you don't already have issues, you will see that you will slowly develop issues. Create your own mantra and work on that until you are ready to face the deception and b*llsh*t that abound the quake community. Don't get me wrong, we can still be very friendly, you will just have to be ready to deal with the bad fishes out there too.

Second tip, have a stash of keyboards near by.

Third tip, play with your numpad and not the 'regular' wasd. Its much easier having close bindings and not being disturbed by other keys.

Welcome!

Caddens advice is VERY sound! I will be one of those screaming NOOB! whenever some new rookie enters and fouls up teamplay! :)))) Im STILL, after 20 years of Quake, working on anger management :)
Also, Rocket Ninjas QuakeLive and specifically ClanArena Rundown Youtube playlist is ESSENTIAL. I think ALL new players in Quakelive should start here, its just THAT good!
Good Luck, and Welcome!

Train with Bots, increase your FOV, increase bots skill in the time. You gotta Jump and focus on enemies. I've played Quake III Arena since i was 5. Now i'm not really good because i haven't play Quake for 5 years, but i'm training hard by now and i'm getting my old skills. Calm down while playing, but not too much 😂 Don't get angry

PC performance, "what ever your Maxed out at and like what you see". Mouse and keyboard Settings "find comfort". sound is not a option to sacrifce, so listen and learn the maps that offer you a good posistion. I can't give you anything other then open advise, due to the nature that you are not me and I am not you... not to mention our specs differ . practice and try other things... Write down what feels good.

Eh, its not that bad. I used to be a competant Rank V at deathmatch back when QL still had the ranking system; but now I suck ass.

People complain that Quake Champions is dead but Bethesda destroyed Quake Live when it was as popular as it had ever been, I can remember a solid 2-4000 players back when Quake Live was still browser based lmao.

It feels worse to have come crashing down from a high place than to never have been there at all.

just be prepared for the ego filled community that do nothing but talk ♥♥♥♥ to new players then claim they want to keep the game alive :/
