Lost my save game

I played fine last night, saved the game, left then came back to it today with the continue button greyed out. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to fix it? Would be really appreciated.

Just had this problem. It started saving games to Documents, and then shifted to saving games to the steam folder.. Gonna try copying the steam folder saves to the Documents folder? I'll let you know!

Edit: Yep, that fixed it for me. Try searching for your saves in a different folder and moving them.

I've had this happen to me two times now. If it happens again, I will try what Dejal said.

The first time it happened I had to restart about 1hr of progress and the second time was probably close to 2. I was able to run through the stuff I already did by memory, but that really kills the great atmosphere.

I got it now, it created a Default folder in documents so i put my saves in there :)

I just had the same exact thing happen to me. Hope the devs are taking note.

My saves are in documents still but the game isnt seeing them. and when i started a new game the new save also went to documents, so the location is still the same. Very annoying issue. Anyone found a solution to this?

Check files integrity and clear game cache with Steam? :s

How can it be that almost 2 years after the original post I buy the game and have to come here with the exact same problem and the Devs apparently still haven't done jack about it?

Things like this drive me mad...

Update: I could solve the issue by going to the SOMA folder in documents and copying the last auto save file from the folder generated based on my user name in the "main" folder into the "default" folder, also in the same "main" folder.

Seems like a pretty simple bug, why not just fix it for all?

Think about the last time you saw it and then retrace your steps to that point. Can usually find most things that way.

I know how to solve it. you have to restart steam. The whole client, close it and restart.
Then run the game again and continue will be there.
