Faulty power suit.. and ocean

So, I got my new diving suit and ran straight down the ramp in front of me and dropped off.
My suit imploded maybe 5 seconds later :/
I tried again but this time I dropped myself down where the working lift is. (the thing that is supposed to lower you).
As I fell, I followed the cables heading down to guide my path. My suit held this time. I fell a long way then saw what looked like a whale in the near distance.. The cables ran out for a moment, then I caught up with another set. I kept an eye on them while they lasted but I soon dropped past them too.. Next thing there's nothing. Just total darkness below and a faint cast of light above with nothing else.
No matter how far I fell, I never reached the bottom :(
It was like a perfect image of hell.

I'm guessing if you 'free fall' the pressure increases too fast for the suit to withstand, which is why you've got to descend using the slower lifter.

Yet it can survive air lock transitions down there? You know, where the pressure builds up in an instant..

Wait, you can just free fall into the abyss? Never even thought to try that... lol

You can try but the abyss forgets it had a floor if you dont use the lift.

Simin gives a nice little scream before implosion if you do this. Appearntly jumping, you miss the mark, even riding the elevator, the suit seems to be beyond tolerances.
