It removes every monster encounter which means that you are bascially getting a walking-sim with a fantastic story.
If the story really is fantastic then I don't need the mod. It's not that I can't play horror, I just rarely see the point. Although I do like certain atmospheric horror..
Might get the mod anyway. I'll have to see how much it alters the feel.
Having played the Penumbra and Amnesia games I have to admit Soma is nothing like them. The storytelling and graphics have improved ten fold. Frictional must have hired some better people. Also the voice acting is top notch, a lot better than it was in Amnesia TDD.
You would be crazy not to buy this on sale, because I have been waiting forever for this price drop. No way was I shelling out $30 for it.
The passive mod would have ruined the game for me -- there aren't too many parts where it was difficult. It's not as stressful as Amnesia by any means.
Its just one of these cases were you spend a additional hour or two after finishing the game just to read the wiki because you want to know more about the world you've just been in. Guess that in itself says a lot.
