1 meal every other day and at least they dont drop further...unless being hungry affects morale?
Well tough cause I cant feed them every day lol
That way food items go just as fast and I save alot of resources.
cause in that case I'll probably do the same, its a lot of freakin effort to cook food and the return doesnt seem to be worth it (granted, survival is worth it, but if there is an easier/ less resource hungry way)
Also never try to return someone from very hungry by feeding them an uncooked meal and then a cooked one or you will waste food and they will only be at "hungry" insetad of "still hungry". It is a bug I found and you have to give them a cooked meal or can of food first and then an uncooked meal.
IE you should be at "still hungry" for eating a full meal and half a meal but instead you are at "hungry"
I've done about 3 tries so far but I haven't noticed anything about hungry status imposing morale penalties. I always keep my guys at "Hungry", sometimes "Very Hungry" but so far only Bruno got "sad" - but that could've been just because he's a gloomy guy. So far it doesn't seem to me being hungry has any negative consequences. I may be wrong though.
There doesn't seem to be any penalty for this other than them constantly complaining about how hungry they were. Nobody seemed to get sick, nobody got sad without reason etc.
Also get a veg garden up asap, it is extremely good. First electric parts should be on second workshop upgrade->reinforced door->heat lamp for veg garden.
On my 1st playthrough I did well but I didn't know the game yet so I was shot in the supermarket by the commando guy.
2nd playthrough - basically starved to death. In the second week. Merchant guy no food, plus didn't show up for 3 days. Safe houses no food. Supermarket - can't go in, don't wanna be shot again. Other places guarded or unavailable yet. Screw this, try again :D
3rd playthrough - didn't get Marko. And boy, scavenging with only 12 slot, when you have to carry a crowbar and a shovel, you start running out of parts and wood very fast. Not a deciding factor on its own but combined with a few other things it's game over.
I don't know, maybe I'm a still too much of a noob or maybe it's supposed to be that way. It's just when I read about people surviving for 5 or more weeks I'm kindda feel dumb :D
I think having them very hungry will bring them down from content. I have also never had someone go full on depressed due to hunger alone but I have never had someone be content while very hungry for long. Once thing I have noticed is if you try to get someone very hungry to work or build something they will sometimes stop in the middle to complain. Not a huge issue since you can just micro them and get them back to work but it is pretty annoying considering how precious daylight is.
If you feed the survivor who is not hungry, he/she will recieve "Well Fed" level; it boost the speed of everything on that character, like running, searching, crafting. I try that with Pavle, and he ran like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Flash.
