HEAT & WINTER - WTF?
Hello Guys,

just wondering with my upgraded heater doesn't provide enough heat to my survivors: I placed it in one empty room, but my survivors keep telling me that it they are freezing.

Any tips?

Did you fill it up with burnables to 6? Sometimes it gets so cold that even with six you will be at 14C, which is still cold to your mans. So you have to deal with it for a few days.

Sometimes it gets so cold that 1 heater can't do the trick. I think upgrading the heater just makes it more efficient, not hotter. But I haven't compared them. I had a playthrough where I couldn't get the house over 11-12 degrees even with the heater constantly maxed w 6 fuel. I've heard people say it can get so cold you won't survive without 2 heaters but haven't experienced it myself yet.

Thanks for the tip: I was keeping the heater with 2/3 fuel, not 6.

Let's see if it works this way :)

took me awhile to realise adding more would put the temp up , dont think i looked at the temp on my first game.

Boarding up your house also helps with the heating issues.

Confirmed: you need 5/6 fuel to increase the overall heat in your shelter :)

Two heaters don't seem to increase the effect. :CSAT:

Opening your front door will also lower temp in your house. My house was at 2C while trading, when I closed it, temp went up to 4C.

Aaah, I thought the number on the heater just said how many burnables you had stocked, so when the first had burned out it would automaticaly go to the second ^^
Thanks for this info, now I'll add some more fuel :D

Anyone else ever get a bug where you HAVE the fuel to burn in the heater but all of your survivors swear you don't have any fuel to put in it? Anyone know a fix? On day 31 and about to die because of this stupid bug. Burned down to 2 wood and in harsh winter

You'll want to keep your shelter at 15C at the very least.
so is it usefull to have more heater or do I just need one with full fuel ?

I just use 2 unupgraded heaters.

The only thing that matters is the number of logs inserted over night -- there's no reason to spend fuel during the day, so just add X logs into each at around 6:30PM.

Use 2-3 unupgraded heaters and make sure you have wood in them up to at least 4. Should work better.

I agree with

an upgraded heater burns logs slower so they last a lot longer which is good if you're running low on firewood,

as for no reason for spending logs during the day whilst everyone is healthy this is true but if they're sick it actually benifits in the healing of them. . . suposedly hard to confirm when its an ingame mechanic just like the actual benifits of being well fed aren't completely known but it factors into many things all the time
