I then went through all of the loot locations.
With only one exception, they had nothing in them. OTOH, I ran into 6 DIRT PILES!!!!
I have played this game, and I know how fun it can be. I also understand the aesthetic the devs were going for, a grueling "game" of tough moral decisions. Seriously though, this is beyond ridiculous. I haven't written a review yet, but if this keeps up...
Anyway, I am going to restart yet again and hope that this game quits ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me in the ass.
Prepare yourself.
Another few tips are these:
-Shotgun is OP
-Assault rifle didn't do a well job with me
-Send Marko scavenging everytime you can
-Don't focus on cigarrettes, coffee, etc., until you run out of loot places and have to use them as trading objects
-Heal slight wounds and sickness sleeping in bed
-Make an Hachet to chop down the furniture in the house during winter
-Food>Materials>Meds>Parts>Weapons
Good luck!
Sweiously? That's all you have to offer, some, "I'm better than you, you suck," crap? Keep it to yourself.
Thank you for the suggestions. What do you do about Bruno constantly getting (and staying) depressed? I can't figure out how to pull him out of his slump! If he weren't so useful I would just let him die, the big whiner.
Well, you can get someone to cheer him up (Pavle and Marko are good for this) or you can just give him some alcohol.
Also you need a reinforced door. Boards aren't enough when the crimewave hit. Once you have the reinforced door you can forget about weapons.
Basics:
1) Feed Your folks at day 3, 5, 7, 9, etc... This will save LOADS of food.
2) Dont add consumables into heater during day - that gives You nothing, important is heating for nighttime.
3) Focus getting weapon for guard.
4) Trade all wood/material/parts that Franco offers, carry home more expensive stuff as a priority.
5) Absolutely must - focus economy!! Herbal garden up quickly, herbal workshop too! When You can produce bandages independently, its almost certain win.
After setting up electric door, armed characters should never get injured during night rides. After I had firearm stronger than pistol, I believe I never got wounded.
In overall I have played trought only 3 scenarios, bc game gets quickly too easy. I know it sounds unbelieveable at the start, but You can easily finish game without EVEN ENTERING to half of locations. Thats how much of reserve this game has...
OTOH, I, too, discovered that I don't need to enter half of the locations. (Or, more accurately, I can't. I die when I try to even trade at the hotel or the villa.)
I got tired of the problem scenario and switched to Arica/Marin/Katia and promptly got an upgraded metal workshop and two beds on my first day.
Second day I had an axe and 2 of the holes patched.
Day three I got the upgraded stove and the other patch.
By day 6 I had an AK, 10 rounds, and the electric door.
Day 8 I got cocky and lost Arica to a firefight.
Day 9 I lost Katia to another firefight.
Day 10 Marin became so depressed that he left.
I got the ruined church, rapist, and sniper scenarios all in one story. It was like I was DESTINED to destroy the military outpost! (Well, except that I died trying. Twice.)
Shortest, yet most fun game I have played!
Still, even with Marin and Katia, the rate at which I got my house upgraded was astounding! I really think that sometimes the RNG just kicks me in the teeth.
I think You stick to good old shooter games too much:)
Try not to fight so much, at least try to backstab one or 2 enemies first. In first order this is a survival game. "Luck management" is a part of it. If You dont wanna put Your whole crew to risk, where chances are 50:50, You do not attack the militants:) I said 50:50, because with characters other than Roman I would also die VERY often in that location.
I personally like that concept very much, because in real life, how propable it is, that a girl clears off a military outpost?
btw, why You picked Military Outpost over Sniper Junction at first place? The latter is actually very easy: You hear the shot, You space behind next car wrack and wait for new shot. With 1-2 times of practise sniper junction becomes a free location.
Even in heavily guarded places, like Hotel, You can clear almost everything while being invisible. Just stop for a while and "listen" their steps, see where they go. Game is designed so that You do not have to kill almost anyone. This is also 20% more effective, as You dont have to use 2 backbag slots for weapon and bullets.
The supermarket with the soldier is easy. Just pick Roman/Arica/Boris and jump in for an easy assault rifle and morale boost.
Also, if you don't want to rely on a guide, you can use your brain and guess your survivors' combat skills. Common sense like: Katia's a reporter, so she sucks at combat. Pavle's a footballer, he's more athletic and so he's better. Arica's a burglar, she should know self-defense and so she's even better. And of course, Roman's ability is ''trained in combat'' so he's best... Don't bring a terrible fighter to battle, they'll lose.
Actually I wasn't creating a story - I was playing a prebuilt scenario with the people mentioned above. Normally I agree that sneaking is better, but I have to play with the sound off so I did not know about the footstep sounds. Thank you for that information.
Also, despite its name, Sniper Alley is not a "sniper" scenario because the only sniper in that location is a series of random potshots from across the courtyard. If you were less of a newb you would know I was referring to the construction site option in which two snipers are on the roof.
I always start my attacks with a backstab. What, do you think I am an idiot? Arica is actually very skilled at backstabbing, second only to Roman. I only did the "moral" killings, always starting with backstabs and, because I started my killing spree in the supermarket, following up with AK. I got all my kills without getting hit, and had an AK, a sniper rifle and a hatchet when I entered the military compound. There is no way to get most of the good stuff there without getting into a massive firefight, but I needed materials because I had tapped out all the easy locations.
I don't know why you continue to patronize me - I have over 60 hours in this game and know how it should be played. And why do you assume that I like "good old shooter games?" Have you even bothered to look at my games library?
I understand that you are trying to help here, so I will be gentle.
I know how to play. I have over 60 hours in the game.
I know the supermarket is easy. Where do you think I got the early AK from?
I know who is good at what - I looked it up. Why do you think Arica died first in combat? I was USING her first in combat! I would have chosen Roman, but he was not available - his gang duties came first, so he wasn't around.
