Basically situation is like this: You dont need to heat the shelter, as You only may get sick during night, but now You always scavange. You dont get attacked, if You play (relatively) safe locations. You dont need stove, as You will find enough canned food to survive alone.
So You need just one bed, to sleep off night tiredness and thats it.
Ofc if You want to keep joining survivor alive too, You should build shelter. You asked about night rides: looters focus food and meds, if those are available. You should bring with You stuff, that You use immediately. For food, You can cook it, and keep it on the stove, they can not steal that food. DONT STAY IN SHELTER OVERNIGHT!
1) you may get wounded etc.
2) your net income is way bigger from scavange, than loss from looters.
In general - very easy scenario, joining survivor makes it harder:D
It's risky, but what they steal isn't that important.
Also, just hope anothet survivor came to join you.
During the day, he would sleep and eat, bind his wounds and things like that.
At night, there was trading and scavving but once the crime wave broke out it became nearly immposible for him to keep his ♥♥♥♥ together because even though there was nothing at the crashhouse to be stolen, the face that someone broke in was enough to drive him into a breakdown and lie down and rot away.
Day 1: Scavenge Shelter, but pick ONLY EXACTLY what you need to build a bed first, then metal workshop.
At night, don't brig back more then what you exactly need for next build, be it the stove for food.
Spend the night scavenging on bringing all the loot into one location for easier pickings later.
don't worry about raids, you have nothing for them to steal if you make sure to only pick exactly what you need each day and night.
Usually around days 5-7 you will get a second survivor, and now you basically have survived, unless you blunder up big time.
By now you have a second survivor, and the shelter can be looted more and more things built.
before too long you will have a third.or was it turd.....noth sure, but another will join and then you are really set.
Just don't use Marko to fight, that is NOT what he is about, wait with any fighting , other then maybe the rapist soldier until you get a more combat oriented survivor to join
but..but,,,,,,the program would always say I was raided and Marko would get more depresed, even though there was nothing stolen, until one day he hung himself!! That was my issue.
I find the same sence of hopelessness in Frostpunk also, everything is going great, have surplus of goods, moral is high and nothing negative....then word comes that the other group has all died and then my villagers almost commit sucide and the whole program takes a dive to hell! Their reaction is totally unrealistic. That is why I hardly ever play this War of mine and am starting to play less and less of Frostpunk. For me it is sad because both games could be really great games but??????
Is not that hard tbh.
Don't understand? What is your point?
