Scavenge Pile disappears
I scavenged one of my opening areas and took the time to move most items to a scavenge pile available near the entrance. When I returned this pile was gone! It had about 40% of the entire area in this pile. Thanks for checking on this. If you need more info I am still in that game and can give you specifics.

i think they "removed" it due to it being kinda cheap and maybe some one esle looted it idk maybe

Not sure what you mean by cheap, as I spent the whole night scavenging the area and moving items closer to the entry point, but I suppose it would make sense in real life if someone came and scavenged the area, but that doesn't happen anywhere else in the game. It's a glitch that needs fixed. Seems to be random though.

well cheap by how the game was made.....ok the devs tryed to make this game as real as possible. like you know how you can only send one scavenger at night? well after the devs talked to people whos been in citys under siege and that is what most people did. so makeing piles of food water parts ect is well unrealsitic

I used this technique on the game I've just finished, and the pile was always full when I went back - even after 22 days in the case of the Derelict Squat. I have, however, read of some other people having the same issue, when a carefully-stocked pile has disappeared on return. I can't say whether it's a bug or a game feature, and I guess only the developers know.

It would certainly make sense for other people to come along and scavenge your pile in the interim. Maybe there's a random chance of items disappearing when they're left in an easily accessible place while you're away? I kind of hope there is, because arguably it makes the game too easy otherwise.

I can't confirm this personally, but I read somewhere on the forums that happens if you click "Loot All" (fully loot the pile first), then drop things back into the pile while you still have it open. I have been pretty careful about never fully emptying any pile I intend to use, even temporarily, for this reason, just in case.
Thank you for helping us reproduce the problem. We're gonna fjx it as soon as possible.

To add a little more to the original description. I did the same thing at the other starting location and that organized pile did not disappear. The original problem was at the location where you start near a swingset and have to climb the pile of rubble to get into the building (Sorry I can't recall the name). I used the pile near the swingset to store the items. Also, I believe winter came and I could not get back to this location until after winter. The percentages on the map never changed/updated until after I went back and found the pile missing.

Wait, things aren't supposed to disappear? I assumed it was part of the game... ;)

I'd made detailed notes on what I left at certain locations, and noticed that wood in particular seemed to vanish after a while. That, or I took really bad notes.
