Cancelled workshop upgrade - whole workshop disappears

That's basically it. I'd started the upgrade from tier 1 to tier 2, but the day ended before it could be finished. Then the next day I realised I'd rather reallocate my components needed for the upgrade, clicked to cancel, and the whole workshop disappeared. Bit of a problem, I'd say.

Finishing the upgrade worked as intended and there's been no further problems, but I really could've used those components.

I had a similar problem. Pulled the person that was working on my workshop to answer the door. Workshop disappeared and I can't get it to come back. How did you get yours back?

I just quit and restarted the day. You literally can't even build a new workshop, so you're pretty much stuck with this bug. The only way to have a functioning workshop at all, if this happens, is to allow the upgrade to finish.
