Unable to build the reinforced door

I have upgraded the workbench, I have boarded up all the holes (icon for it has disappeared and the log in the status page sais the house is well protected) AND I have all the material needed for the upgrade. I do not have any doors upgraded previously.

However the reinforced door icon is gray and the "make" button is gray. The same goes for the radio (I already have one) which also is grayed out even thouhg I have all materials.

I see others have complained about this but no response.

PS No mods, did the integrity check and no other issues with my setup.

UPDATE: I found out that one boarded up hole was not completed (daytime ran out while it was being upgraded) and once I assigned someone to complete the job, I could build the reinforced door. So check that all boraded holes are actually complete if you encounter this issue.
