In-house temperature, exactly how does it work towards sickness?
I'm wondering if anyone can fill me in on their experience with winter time and house temperature. I've got the upgraded heater and stocked it full of fuel to burn. The house temperature goes up to +15C and that temperature is in the red, so I'm assuming that means it is warm enough to sustain them from sickness. On the other hand the wiki says 20C and above can avoid sickness.

This is where I'm confused and would like for someone to fill me in. Do I need to build another heater? If so it will be a little tough, but I think manageable. But if I can get through winter with just the improved heater that would be excellent and maybe this third playthrough will be a success.

Thanks ahead of time!

I survived thru my first winter with one fully upgraded heater and one smaller. I was keeping temp. around 18 celsius. Bruno was "slightly sick" whole winter (he was like that even before).

Make sure you have stuff for trade when trader visits you so you can buy some fuel. Also have a hatchet ready for winter so you can chop things to get fuel/wood on your scavenging trips.

Yeah I decided to make a smaller heater as well and got both of those heaters going. I'm not hurting TOO bad for materials, probably better than others in the city, I just wanted to be as picky as possible...but on the other hand I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I was upset that some chairs and dressers weren't able to be chopped up into wood at some locations...don't know if the developer missed it or what...but come on...Like the Shelled Cottage above Our Shelter especially - about three items that can be chopped, but not able to be chopped if you know what I mean.

But overall, I just wasn't sure if as long as your temp is Red (which is at +15C) in color you're good. I'd rather not find out the hard way!

I survived whole winter with only 1 heater (upgraded) The temp was always arround 13 to 15 celsius. Only bruno got a little bit sick.

1 upgraded heater at 6 fuel throughout the day will keep any sickness at slight and cure it with a night of sleep... most days anyway.

15C does seem to be the breakpoint for complaints about the cold.

I've noticed that as well...temp is < +15C and they say "Wah wah it's cold", temp goes >/= +15C and they say "woohoo it's warm"

Oh well, rather safe than sorry. I've had 2 characters still get sick, but only slightly so it isn't too bad. I got a crapload of food, meds and materials for fuel. I got a couple mroe days of winter...think I might survive the war this time. Arica, Roman, Bruno & Boris are such a great combination!!

Although I had Boris take out Bozena and I can't get him out of being Sad. I have Roman playing the guitar when he isn't sleeping and when he is I got the radio playing...hoping this will work. Last thing I need is to lose the largest backpack guy!

Arica`s kinda extraneous there actually. Marin or Katia would be much better.

Although she`s useful for that team in that she doesn`t get weepy over theft, and she`s at least another body, allowing Bruno to rest at night.

As for Boris and the weepies, booze him up. He`ll be out of comission for a bit but the sads go away.

Comfortable range for most people is 18c - 25c. Being cold enough to actually make you sick if you where exposed to it for long periods of time would be < 10c unless you where very old or very young.

Arica has been my scout/guard (as much as possible). I send her in to see what obstacles lie, always equipping her with shovel, saw and crowbar and knife. I send her in to do all the hard work then Boris to get the loot. Though I had to use Boris with Bozena because I needed more materials at the time, so it was a sacrifice I had to make (him being sad). Bruno is always my guard. Roman has always been my guard as well, though early game I had intentions of arming him up and taking out military/thugs...then thought about how bad of an idea (and expensive) that would've been.

Noted for the temperature. I've seen good results with those temps as well. Been feeding my people every other day to outlast supplies as much as possible. As for Boris I'll have to give that a try! This music thing is taking a long time. I also thought by having him go to the hospital and giving a bandage would help...it didn't (but maybe because I took a crowbar in exchange? The offer was still more in favor of the doctor, so maybe that's why?)

A single updated heater with max fuel (6) during the coldest days appears to be enough in my experence.
