So the first playthrough, I didn't even think about feeding him, but this time I intended to just to see what happens. Well I came back 2 nights later and he was already dead. Sucks because I wasted a slot on bringing food. I don't want you to tell me what happens, but is there any kind of reward for helping him other than a morale boost? If there is, I'll bring food the first time I go there next playthrough.

When I gave him food he asked me to follow him and then he showed me a hidden looting spot that I couldn't see before he showed it to me.

occassionally even when you give him food, he says something like "ive somethiing to show you" but the stash in the basement doesnt appear. Boris seems to be the common link - but not always

This happens when you don't unboard the doors. It messes with his pathing.

Damn, it still happens. He was going there but i was doing something else and thought he'll wait for me. Later he did not show it even when i came again.

I know this, this is second time meeting him. I can't access that stash after this bug

In my game i have to come a second time with the food before the loot is showing. Do i bring the food the first time visiting he goes to the cellar where the loot is but the loot icon doesnt show.So (for me) revisit the day after the first visit, with food and bingo

Oh, maybe this. Second time i came with food on first visit. But i also didn't unboard the door and didn't follow him. So not sure.

The moral: don't feed a bum the first time you see him!

Met him again, unboarded the door, waited till he ended his monologue, he was even standing close to that location. Followed him when he told it, but… nothing, he still did not walk to that stash.

atleast you didnt return home after to find your place has been raided for 49 wood and 18 fire consumables! realy wish they had a limit going to be a tough winter.

Typically what I do is loot most of the house around him, except for the small room outside the larger one where he sits. Once you walk into that small room that seems to trigger him coming out & greeting you. I've visted the house at least 3 times getting everything else, even going for the pile in the room above him, & he'll still be sitting by fire. Then, if I have the food to spare & I've opened all the doors, then I'll go to small room, break open the cabinet (which gives him enough time to say everything) & then give him food. Wait for a bit, & then he should show you where the secret place is.

Unintentional hilarity ensues when he then walks around the house looking for stuff & you've already taken it all.
