She doesn't get sad very easy, so if anybody gets Depressed - she's there to calm them down.
So, my vote is for "join".
From what I've heard, she has good sneak attacks, and she's so blatantly selfish that it's almost impossible to bum her out by robbing or killing civilians. I tend towards extremely goody-two-shoed play, so she's not that useful to me, but if you tend towards more ruthless play than I suppose she'd be good to have around.
It's tolerable to start out with her and let her live (unlike Cveta, I always make that useless load of fat die off as soon as I can), but if she arrives at your house you can restart and play the random numbers God to your liking.
Say what you want about Emilia, at least she doesn't have a mere 8 slots!
Only thing that would be better is Marko
Take her in only if you're confident that your production has reached stability, and you're feeling charitable, because you're certainly not doing yourself any favors.
Once you get past day 10-12, you have enough production to cover just about any instance, and having that extra survivor to cover for someone who gets sick/injured is nice. They might not have much carry capacity, and are about useless for most instances, killing off people just makes for extra depression and isn't worthwhile imo. I've brought a group of 5 back from starving before with 1 day's scavenging, so it really isn't too difficult as long as you plan ahead for the day's/night's activities.
This assumes you have reached, or have a path to stability; if not, turn her away. She's a lawyer; she'll understand. ;)
