The situation is most like the siege of sarajevo but takes place in a hypothetical city.

I read in a article it was based on Yugoslav Wars, so former Yugoslavia but yeah the city itself in the game is made up

as Palestine Diet said Siege of Sarajevo is what it is actually based on, which includes several countries of the Bosnian War

I sometimes like to imagine it here in the States. Even though many people dont have "American" names, it just adds to the immersion. The game is way tougher if you think of the old couple with a kid as the people down the street that you know... Maybe i'm just odd...

But yes, I read too that its about the whole Yugoslavia wars.

The game is intended to take place "anywhere". Of course the city is named Pogoren and it is placed in "central Europe" but that's just paying respects to our main inspirations.
