Illness
was doing very well on supplies around day 30 ish and knew the end couldnt be far off. the snow was clearing and everything looks great for my first survival. Pav Zal and Bruno and just chilling in the house when emilia knocks on the door asking to come in. Being in a good situation I figured what the hell can alway use another pair of hands but after I let her in it tells me she is seriously ill. The only thing i didnt have was real meds and not a day later pav and zal both get sick as well. This ♥♥♥♥♥ came into my house became terminally ill the next day, sat in a bed for 5 days dieing slowly while I search frantically for meds to keep everyone else well. By the end of the infection on day 40 only zal and bruno were alive and zal was broken from the death of pav.

Basically two things, one you should be able to throw ill people out into the streets if there is no hope of saving them, or you should at least be told if someone is ill before letting them in your home. the other is how does the illness mechanic spread? everyone was full and un wounded and the advanced furance was full of fuel the whole time when everyone started to get sick, but yes it snowing.

A solution I would try would be to take the sick character to do a scavengehunt and have her killed.. Not the smoothed solution (as it would make everyone sad, and you'd waste a night on having her killed), but then again if you're gona have her killed you can as well try to take as many bandits with you into the grave ^^

could u not take her to the hospital ?

you cant get to the hospital in winter due to snow, and you cant have a severely ill or wounded person go scavaging. I would have suicided her into bandits if i could. I just gave up trying to save her after 3 days and stopped feeding and wasting bed space on her hoping starvation and exhustion would finish her off faster. she crying keep my other people up all night and made a mess.

Sickness in the winter is really annoying. Cold weather doesn't cause illness, viruses do. I could see them getting hypothermia but you should be able to have them hang out by the heater for awhile to warm them up. Having the ability to quarantine a sick individual would also be nice too.

does proximity to the heater affect how easiely they get sick and recovey time? Unless you are willing to throw good meds at a sick person everyday in winter they wont get better. Even built a second furnace to keep the temp up but it never got over 12c. keeping them fed and bed ridden until the snow clears seem to be the only way to keep them alive without meds.

Been doing a little experiment today with sickness and snow as my most recent game started in deep snow season. (yeah it can do that apperently) any way they all got sick pretty quickly and I had a good quantity of meds on me so I tried to see how meds affected me surviors. I used peva as a kinda of a control after I realized I didnt have enough meds for both by only giving her food and rest but no meds and marin got all the meds he could want until I ran out of good meds but he stayed on a good diet of herbal meds for a while and this is what it took to get them better.

Day 1
M- Sick (on meds)
P- well

Day 2
M- Sick (on meds)
P- Slightly sick

Day3
M- sick (on meds)
P- Sick (on meds herbal)

Day 4
M- Slightly Sick (on meds herbal)
P- sick

Day 5
M- Slightly Sick (on herbal Meds)
P-Severly ill (you cant give severly sick people herbal meds only pills and I was out of pills)

Day 6
M- Well
P- terminally ill

Day 7
M- Slightly sick (on meds herbal-dont know why he got sick again)
P- Terminally ill

Day 8
M- well
P- dead

cost
Good meds 3
Herbal meds 4 (+2 for Alica and Bruno)

Alica was also there with bruno and they each got slightly sick once but herbal meds cleared it up after 1 day.

Conclusion- If more than one person gets anythng more than slightly sick in winter suicide the one you dont need into bandits.
